What I need your help with, is the 'horn' on the right side of the breast armor. It's all good if it's only decorative, but if not - would be nice to know

i believe the horn is there to place the javelin over it when jousting to keep it stable.

i dunno maybe not, i could be wrong....anyone?

As already mentioned, it looks like a support. But rather than for the Javelin, perhaps for a lance?

in my haste to reply i had typed the wrong thing....javelin are for throwing lance was the correct term i was looking for.
