Today the US Treasury is expected to sell the last of its stock in the American International Group (AIG), marking the end of the $182 billion bailout that rescued the company. But the AIG brass did not always seem appreciative of the government assistance. Just look at Robert Gifford, president and CEO of AIG Global Real Estate, which oversees $8.4 billion of real estate in various countries. At a 2010 holiday party for AIG employees held at a restaurant in New York City, Gifford rapped, to the tune of Jay-Z's "Empire State of Mind," about working at AIG and having to deal with the government. Mother Jones obtained a copy of the video.

Robert Gifford, President & CEO of AIG Global Real Estate, Rap Lyrics (2010)

Long live the AIG GRE!
Yeah I'm out that Boston, now I'm NYC, yo
Sittin' right next to Mally-son, I'll be hood for-eva bro!
I'm the new Sinatra, and since I made it here
I can make it anywhere, yeah they love me everywhere...
I used to do real estate, with all my Beantown homies,
Right there up at AEW, everybody know me.
I was hanging out all comfy, at my crib in bed
Now I have endless meetings with Will and the Fed

Cruisin' to Tokyo, Hong Kong- it's a blast
Travelin with Richie D, oh vey, thank god that's in my past
Me, I'm out that IFC with the Bridg- E note
Later it karaoke, drinkin' soju till I'm smoked
Say whatup to Loc McNew, still sippin' mai tai's
Spearin at Steering Committee, they all give me high five
What the deal e o, I be buggin out
Tell by my attitude that I'm da man who work for
Concrete jungle where attitude reigns supreme
There's nothin you can't do
Now you're in GRE (GRE!)
Preparing business cases will make you feel brand new
Big write off's will inspire you

Let's hear it for GRE, GRE, GRE
Catch me at Europa, buyin muff and coffee,
hanging with the bagel man, I'm his homie
I bleed AIG blue, but I ain't a Crip though
But I got my posse, walkin' down the hall yo
Cruisin into 599, wheeling my luggage
Getting hard to walk, bran gave me too much roughage
I got my I-Pod, hip-hop. yup, yup
Yo Fasulo, say hey, what's the deal, whassup
I gotta look bizy, my peeps wanna chit chat
I hear all the stories, tired of dealing with the wack
Gonna fly to Europe, gotta hang with the Reid
His peeps talk so funny, sound like they be smoking weed
Getting Starbuck's in the Pantry, I'm so in a fog
There's Jimmy Ellsworth, hey what up dog
Chillin' with Bill Dooley, he knows where its at,
He tells me funny stories, I'm so down with that's
Concrete jungle where attitude reigns supreme
There's nothin' you can't do

Well this is

Some exec geek rap bragging about how great his life is after helping to crash the economy. Sickening really. HSBC should make a rap about how they are too big to jail....

That was painful.

Maybe these bank execs destroyed the economy because they are so frustrated about their lack of musical talent.

It seems to be the recurring theme. Most adults today are no more mature than 16 year olds. This is what happens when we reward each other for entitled behavior. Our world is run by folks like this, while most of us barely remember having the luxury or time to act like fools...
