I still think it is paradoxical that people who kill themselves would wear a bullet proof vest.

It makes no sense to me also.

I can't speak to what causes people to go on violent rampages, but I can speculate on what gets them depressed and disillusioned in the first place. There's a movement here to marginalize certain portions of the population in order to advance others that are deemed more deserving. Those that are being marginalized tend not to understand or appreciate it.

We're also exposed to the wide world now. We wind up comparing our own existence against the rich and powerful in the world because we get to see how they live on E! and MTV. Were you the valedictorian in your high school? That's nice, now meet the ten year old genius that's working on his doctorate.

Life is very different now compared to even ten years ago.

In my opinion, and as others have stated, I feel this rise in violence from our younger generation is because of a lack of responsibility and respect.

This is a messed up generation. They are the ones who made people like Snooki and Kim Kardasian stars. It's an entire generation of kids, now young adults, who were raised to be all about "ME." Self-entitled, spoiled brats who lack the emotional understanding of how to handle the real world that can be pretty damn cruel.

They didn't work hard to earn what they had, it was handed to them.
They didn't earn awards or grades, they were handed to them because of PC bull-crap & schools who want to keep their funding.
They didn't have consequences for their actions because someone else was always to blame and someone else would fix it for them.
The adults in their lives depended on drugs to keep them complacent.
Both parents work, or their single parent works crazy hours leaving daycare to raise them or children to raise themselves.
They lack a basic set of morals and ethics.
They lack positive roles models in their lives, not because there are none to be found, but because they don't want to be look up to someone they consider dull.
Most importantly, they lack respect for their own body, so it makes sense that the lives of others would be worth little to them.

No, not all of our young adults are like this, but the good ones are getting harder to find. A fact which fills me with sadness.

the mass shootings are symptom of an ultra capitalistic society like america.

Availability of guns & no socialised health care = mentally ill people on the streets with guns.

I don't need to be his doctor to know what state of mind he was in because there is only one state of mind that can make a person kill little babies. . Homicidal plain and simple. He was sick for sure, and the only medicine that can treat his condition is a bullet in the head.

Right, so by that rationale everybody who is diagnosed with a mental illness should be taken out the back and shot in the head? Just in case?

Like I said before, you have a very limited viewpoint on this.

Well it would appear that in this most recent case the blame is being placed squarely at the mother's door for being a paranoid, gun toting, end of the world prepper.

Just a convenient excuse to bring about heavier gun control or valid point?.

As parent's we have to be very careful not to project our own fears onto our children, if this woman is or rather was as they are claiming, then she has projected some deep deep fear of the future onto an already troubled young man. It's always been my own fear that as we get closer to the 21st that some will take matters into their own hands and give people a not so helpful shove into the next veil of existance. Perhaps the disturbed boy was so #ed up he thought he was doing those poor babies / his mother and those teachers a favor. It seem's clear that had he had the chance he would have killed more that horrible day.

Can you give me examples of a mental illness that would make some one do what he did? how is it diagnosed? And what is the treatment?

He would not kill himself if he didn't understand what he did. Some people are just Homicidal lunatics. But like I said please continue looking for excuses all you want.

I don't know where you live, but if you're not from America you better stay away because of all the crazies with guns. But if you live in America and you have a gun turn it in immediately and report any one who still has a gun. Obamacare will take care of the rest.

Problem solved. I feel safer already!

We are now into our third or so post-Boomer generation. We value individual rights - no matter how bizarre or dysfunctional - above the social contract and values that once made this country great.

We have become barbarians, exalting violence, sex, money and power above all else.

Each generation has become coarser and desensitized to their fellow humans. It will only get worse unless we change what we value.

We are getting out exactly what we put in...

They grow up coddled and being told how special they are.

Then they grow up and see how ugly life is.
That is what causes people to flip out.

Good question, OP.

Another good question might be: How are mentally disturbed young men being identified and set up to be the patsy in domestic covert actions designed for 'problem-reaction-solution' programming of lawmakers and the general public in order to further the 'New World Order' agenda?

Early reports from Sandy Hook mentioned two or multiple shooters involved. This was reduced to one 'lone nut' as was the case in Aurora and many, many cases going all the way back to the original 'lone nut' in modern history: Lee Harvey Oswald.

Covert actions are usually set up in ways that one 'lone nut' (who fits the profile) is blamed and then it's an open and quickly shut case, case closed. This m.o. has been done successfully for years, RFK hit, MLK hit, mass shootings, John Lennon hit, you name it. As soon as lawmakers and the public are satisfied that the 'lone nut' in the media did it all by his lonesome, the secret agenda moves forward. Even in the case of 9/11, Osama bin Laden emerged quickly as the media's 'lone nut' just as Saddam Hussein had been the 'lone nut' who gave the USA 'no choice' but to invade Iraq and in so doing make the military-industrial complex and defense contractors much wealthier in the process.

I don't have any evidence that Sandy Hook was a covert op. But I do not rule it out, seeing as there is now such a big push to ban at least some types of firearms.
