This post needs a little preface. I was born in 1988. I'm currently 24, almost 25. I was in 6th grade for Columbine and in 8th grade for 9/11. I was going to school in Virginia when VA Tech happened. Since these events it almost seems like the country has lost it's empathy. Today I have seen a tragedy and I have seen the common man treat it simply as a political argument. When I saw the story break all I could think was "Another school shooting?" Just 13 years ago the school shooting was unheard of and now we have turned it into a common event that can be used for political gain. So all I can ask is what happened to us? Where did we lose our way that we can only think of human life in terms of points?
