yet he got it didn't he....as if the war on guns would be more effective then the war on drugs, prostitution, domestic violence ect ect.

Again, why do you care, not your country and you don't plan on visiting us barbarians right...so leave us barbarians to our ways.

Most drugs consumed in the US arent made there, they are imported as well....and they are illegal.

And don't worry.. Would never want to visit a country where you are treated as a criminal and radiated to death just for crossing the border.

Well, if you ever do, and if you survive being radiated, look me up.
I want to introduce you to my gun.

So now you are threatening me for having an opinion on the matter?? You just proved yourself that some people like YOU should never ever be anywhere near firearms.

Wow, I guess they don't have sarcasm in Dusseldorf or wherever.

Anyways, I meant to show you how to use it, to respect it and etc…

yeah but if you were to count every bullet from every shooting there would be thousands of dead.

1 knife hurt 20 people.....even worse than 1 bullet.

So because I am not a US citizen i should not care at all or even have the right to comment? Funny how it is okay for Americans to comment or care about what happens in rest of the world....

I live in the UK and I am horrified by mass gun killings and the USA breeds them.

Well you live in the UK okay, they've strict gun laws but guess what happened? See here:

1) guns restricted by government, very hard to get legally
2) "people" switched to Samurai swords and knifes
3) Ban on Samurai swords except ancient ones (which not many can afford for obvious reasons)
4) "people" switched to kitchen knifes
5) government restricted sales of kitchen knifes
6) 5) had no great effect, mother buys it for cooking so son takes it for some slicing, so people still can get stabbed. (Yeah, you still can kill many people see Chinas knify kindergarten killers)
7) Circle of ridiculousness, it's a societal problem which the govs don't understand because that's apparently too high for them

Also don't forget that 2nd Amendment thing in the US, it keeps enough power to people if the government shall fail them. Oh yeah, I didn't think that he cried, looked more like a trained Psychological trick for fooling the public.

not when it comes to our country. You can have an opinion. But honestly keep it to yourself if you're going to take the moral superiority angle. You don't tell your neighbor his choice of music sucks, or his fashion sense in not to your liking. You may have an opinion but if you are not a jerk you keep it to yourself.

No one is commenting out of concern. Most people who advocate American gun control hate our guts. So I would keep it to yourself. This is an issue at the heart of our highest law. Our constitution. You obviously don't understand. So why would your opinion be weighed?

And like I already stated I don't think the answer is to ban guns. I am just trying to wake up the gun lovers to the fact that you have widely available guns also leads to tragedies like this.
And no, I don't hate your guts. And again why cant i comment on something when Americans comment on situations in other countries?
I don't think this country is in any way superior to USA even though I do think that gun restriction saved lifes.
We have a bunch of problems as well and I pretty much hate living in this nanny socialist state.
But again I don't think gun ban is a solution in USA due to the fact that you already have way too many firearms around and it is not like they will go away even if you ban it. I also know that your gun rights is about being able to protect yourself against for example an abusive government, which is something i actually think is a good thing.

the way I see it, people don't understand what this means to us.

There is a similarity with the US´s loss of freedoms our constitution guarantees and the loss of rights that European countries are facing with austerity measures. As Americans who do not have such high social welfare, we see the austerity almost as normal, "what's the big deal" we say. "it is too excessive anyways" we say.

Similarly the US is losing constitutional rights and liberties and we see this attack on our right to bear arms as another affront to the sacred nature of our highest law, our constitution, like European countries taking away workers rights in the EU see it as an affront on their most sacred achievements as a society. We don't really see what the big deal is, we do fine without those workers rights and Europe does fine without civilian arms. But that is not the issue is it? We are VERY different.

High social welfare has its benefits and down falls like private weapon ownership does.

That said, we have to draw a line to defend what our societies deem as important to us, don't we. I won't understand you entirely and you won't understand me entirely. That is why I will not say a word about how normal I see austerity measures are to a European and I would thank them to mind their own business when it comes to the US´s current mental diarrhea with small arms.

we both have our reasons. In our house, we know best.

Even if you were to ban firearms, that would merely make them more attractive to the masses.

Look at alcohol prohibition; More people drank alcohol DURING the prohibition than people did when it was lifted. The same thing would happen with firearms; People want what they aren't allowed to have.

Secondly, the instant that every American is disarmed is the instant that our constitution is meaningless.

If the Democrats controlled both the House and Senate there would be no vote that would destroy the Second Amendment. There may be some tweaking here and there over time but an outright ban on guns is not going to happen anytime soon.

Because America is filled with desperate people who feel a sense of entitlement that is unwarranted. They are very selfish people. And there are millions upon millions of them. America has a horrible drug problem, both legal and illegal. You combine this with street gangs and millions of illegals and the Mexican Mafia, yes America has guns to defend themselves and their loved ones. The ones who have the guns legally are the same hard working citizens who hold the country on their back with their hard work and taxes.

One can not compare America, with their history of African slaves, drug diseases, and illegals and the organized crime that they bring to any other country on Earth.

Europe can stick their thumb in their rear because they haven't the slightest clue as to what America's citizens live day to day.

Why the frig does the US insist on having guns given the hellish result of guns?

Because I don't want, and will NEVER comply with a New World Order. I do not trust my government, your government or any other government. The 2nd Amendment is there as the final check and balance to ensure all other "rights" are not stolen by the scumbags in Washington.

If you want gun violence...try taking the guns. You'll get more than you can handle.

Really intended to stay out of these threads, seen it all before.

But got to say I agree with the vast majority of what you posted.

The Right To Bear Arms is something that is engrained within the American psyche and something the vast majority of us non-Americans really don't understand.

Gun control laws in the US are a matter for Americans - obviously we are all entitled to an opinion and on sites such as this it is to be expected that people will voice that opinion - but ultimately our opinion is completely irrelevant, it is a matter for the US alone.

I understand why many Americans want to retain The Second Amendment, but even though it might be right for the US I personally don't want to see any relaxation of gun laws here in the UK.

Which leads me to my next point - I accept that gun control in the US is for Americans, I just wish that many Americans would show the same respect to other countries and stop blaming our gun control laws for every single bad thing that happens in our countries.

Keep you guns but we don't want them.

It's got nothing to do with us being suppressed or anything like that, it's just that we know it's not right for us - pretty straight forwards really.

Tragedies like this recent event in Connecticut are becoming increasingly common - we can argue all day long about gun control but it still doesn't address the core issue - what is causing so many people to carry out such appalling and hateful acts?

Because they think they can defeat the U.S Government

A Government that employs Reaper Drones, Apache Helicopters, F-22, Stealth Bombers, Bunker Buster bombs, Laser guided missiles, Tanks, Navy Seals, Predator Drones, Cruise Missiles and the list goes on....

A lot of people quite conveniently forget that the words "Well Regulated" are in the 2nd amendment.

We need to create a secondary military reserve and call it the National Militia, anyone that's a member can have access to military grade weapons. Everyone that's not a part of it cannot have access to any type of assault rifle and can only have a 9mm handgun for personal safety.

accepted, agreed,

I am living in Europe right now, been here 5 years. I agree with what you are saying. It would be terrible if the EU had similar gun laws here as the US.

I think the US should mind our own business as well when it comes to the way Europeans want to live their lives. Their house, their rules. I can respect that.

Cheers.
