Depends on the model of the AR-15 used, barrell length, accessories such as sights put on, but a plain, unadorned AR-15 is about 7 pounds. 3 full magazines of 30 rounds gets you another eight for a total of around 15 pounds for a rifle and 90 rounds ready to go. So if I'm understanding NavyDoc right an unadorned AR-15 with 270 rounds and the magazines to hold them comes out to around 31 pounds.

Not really that much for an adult male of any physique to carry. Even twice that is very plausible. Being skinny doesn't necessarily mean someone is weak. And a lot of the speculation about how "weak" he was is based on what are obviously out of date photos of him as a teen or younger. He was twenty years old.

Just dont see any other reason for so many "puts" those three days leading up to the shootings. We've been told over and over again how gun sales are soaring and the record profits gun manufacturers are making. Why would anyone bet against companies doing so well? Especially since Obamas re-election.

Nvidia is spying for the US government. If you have a nvidia card in your computer. Take a look at user profiles on your computer. They now have created a hidden user on it. UpdatusUser. Take a look at the folder it holds. The file folders on your computer. Documents, videos, links, etc etc

People are strange, some are stranger than others. Every time theres a serial killer on the loose, the police get calls and letters from people claiming to be the killer. Every time there is a major event, someone will try to gain attention from it. Hell, there are even people who will set a fire, just so they can rescue people from its flames!

Is it really so strange when you bear those things in mind, that someone might have called in to spin someone a line?

I don't think so. They quietly added a user to all computers that have a Nvidia video card. You have no control over it at all. You can't modify it. It contains all your file folders you have on your computer empty. But it only takes a burst to fill them and send them out over the internet. And no body really knows it is there. It was never told to any one it was being added. And to top it of it is hidden so you don't know it is there unless you dig for it.

Monsignor Weiss began. "Our children were actually at mass so we kept them in church for quite a while and then sent them over to our hall where they are still in one group.

So now...we are just awaiting...word from the officials on what we should do from here. I'm more concerned about the...the...

(laughter)"

MSNBC: "Monsignor..."

Monsignor Weiss: "(laughter)"

MSNBC: "Monsignor...?"

Monsignor Weiss: "...(laughter)...more concerned about the parents waiting to find out what happened to their children (stifling laughter)."

This is the 2nd time there has been awkward laughter from professionals. The ME also was making jokes and laughing about one of the gravest tragedies ever seen in this country.

I don't buy into the whole organized religion thing, but regardless of that, this man has the capability, in his role, to try to bring comfort to the families and community for which he serves. To make a mockery of the incident, the victims, and the families is just sick.

This is seriously just sick. I am beyond disgusted. People have broken hearts and weep who have no connection whatsoever to anyone involved. To see a man in his position to make a mockery of it is inexcusable.

I have laughed at ill-timed and awkward moments. It's not something I am particularly proud of, but I can say with certainty that it was never done in serious situation, never mind this, the most horrific act imagineable.

Laughter often goes hand in hand with "shock" and "life and death". I know from experience having been through a very traumatic situation and once I realized I was alive (and how close I had came) I could not stop laughing (it was not in my control nor was it "funny")

i'm gonna have to kinda sorta disagree with ya here.
only because i've never seen this one (at school) but i've certainly been in them in PA.

some student bathrooms were 3 stalls large and could easily fit 20 small kids+adult.
(and room to spare if they're on the toilets too)

not saying it's absolute, just verifying the possibility.
if it were in my current region, i'd call BS all day.

We are not talking about a restroom out in the hall. We had those with 3 stalls also. This is supposed to be the
in-room bathrooms so they don't have to take time out to escort some little kid down the hall and they aren't subjected to older kids bullying and such. A very small restroom with one toilet and sink basin.

Yeah, me, too! They did print a retraction, but there was no explanation as to who the woman was that claimed to be the principal, or if the police were looking into that issue. I would guess that some woman called them, and reported that's who she was, and they didn't know. Can just imagine how the real woman's family had to have felt, reading that story!

Exactly. Who is this woman, and why did she misrepresent herself? Was this another planted eyewitness, like we saw on 9/11, to make sure the story follows the agreed-upon script?

Agree on the reaction of laughter at shocking moments. However, in this particular situation, I honestly don't see how that is a reasonable reaction. Just my 2 cents.

And also, by the time he gave this interview in comparision to when it happened, surely the intial shock would have subsided.

Yes, people with Aspergers can be prone to hair trigger, violent outbursts "in the moment" but that doesn't fit the scenario here. Most aspies are quiet, withdrawn, non-social (not anti-social), hyper focused people who just want to be left the hell alone. Some tend to lack empathetic cues which would make them less emotionally affected by something as heinous as the killing of children but on the flipside, this makes them less likely to premeditate such an action because, what would be the point?

Other aspies are hyper empathetic. They can't bear the though of anything suffering, can't even kill bugs, so they wouldn't be in a position to plan to do harm to someone or something because it would be too emotionally torturous on themselves.

I just told someone, not 30 minutes ago, that the mention of Lanza having Aspergers is going to mark all the geeky, gamer, aspie kids the same way goth kids were marked with suspicion after Columbine. I have no doubt that they walked into their classrooms today and were given sideways glances and were spoken about behind their backs. It makes me sick.

Whatever caused that boy to snap, if that's even what happened, I would be my next paycheck it didn't have a damn thing to do with ASD.

For the record, I'm the parent of 2 ASD young adults, am on the spectrum myself, and I've been active in the aspie community (yes, there is one) for 20 years.

Well, I did hear some doctor type on CBS, just a bit ago, state flat out that there is NO connection between violence and Asperger's. So, maybe, that will be widely heard, and this attack on those kids can stop!
