China permits prisoners in Beijing jails to order food online

Very interesting considering the existing political system and prison rights. Is this an attempt by China to appeal the international community of Human Rights to go easy on the criticism of human rights violations?

Beijing: China has launched a new programme for prisoners in Beijing jails under which inmates can place orders online for meals on occasions when they are visited by family, a prison official said on Wednesday. Since prisoners are able to meet their family members in reward for good behaviour, they can now use the prison's intranet to choose the meals they wanted to share with their loved ones, said Feng Jiancang, head of the Human Rights in Justice office of the Institute for Crime Prevention under the Ministry of Justice.

Isn't the whole idea of being in jail to punish them and keep them away from daily luxuries?

In all honestly, they should, once a Week, send a takeaway to the person they harmed in any way,shape or form.

No. The idea of jail is rehabilitation.

True but this one seems to be more so a PR for the International Human Rights watchdogs IMO.

Well they do have Mcdonalds and Pizza places in China too Who knows.
