Good idea. Then you can speculate in private and never get any answers.

Second, that quote makes no sense

Make no sense ? You mean you dismiss Eye witness report ?

Eye witness reports, is just that a report. They did not know what it was. So they reported what they saw.

Dude, this one is solved, really, there is nothing more to say about it.

Time and time again these formations have been explained. A simple search on google or ATS should help those who are unaware of rockets and there phases.

If its solved , explain this sentence to me :

It moved in a straight line at about twice/three times the speed of a passenger plane in holding pattern

Hey cookie, its always good to report these things on here. Then we can figure out what it is. I surely would have been impressed and confused if I saw this happening. Then I would look for answers as to what it was.

Luckily, I found the answer to this one. Still, a great sighting of something not many have seen.

1) A holding pattern is not a straight line.
2) In order to judge the speed of something you have to know how far away it is. There was no way for the observer to know how far away it was unless they knew what it was.

The statement makes no sense.

But isn't it the truth that we are in search of? Besides, it was fun while it lasted. I really did want this to be the real thing. But oh well, there is always next time.

My guess would be a stage separation of the North Korean rocket.

Regardless of us having figured this one out... it is clear to me that you Phage are a bit too trusting in your own abilities to find reasons of events.

You seem to grasp at the first best theory that springs to mind and then apply it until someone else has proven you wrong.
This is in my view a huge problem because you by far is seen here on ATS as an "expert" or reliable source.

I would suggest to you that you tone your own abilities and expectations down a bit regardless of what you might think yourself.

What I may or may not think of myself is not the topic but thank you for your advice. Shall we review some of my posts in this thread?

My guess would be a stage separation of the North Korean rocket.

I just tried to. Launch was at about 0100 UTC which would have been 0300 in Cape Town.
Still looks like a rocket though.

The parts would not have fallen in Cape Town. But it was not the North Korean rocket. The timing is wrong.
On the other hand the timing is perfect for the X-37B launch.

I'm not selling anything. It looks like a rocket.

You see, this is called looking for answers by using science.
1) Theory based on available evidence.
2) Further evidence leads to a modified theory.
3) Further evidence strengthens modified theory.

Now, look at the converse:
No way was it a rocket.
Couldn't have been a rocket.

Of course Phage, thank you. It is quite possible.

I also think it might be the Nasa OTV maybe being tested.

Oh and I wanted to thank you for solving this one. Good job!

No no, I take no credit. Just some googling skillzz, lol. Just love to get the facts behind a story, or a sighting like this. I believe its a process of elimination, until you find the most likely answer.

Looks like Mr Denial is posting quite a bit of misinformation. Worried about something?

Does anybody know the reason for the launching of these rockets?

- Robotic space plane X-37B was launched for classified Air Force mission on December 11, 2012
[ LINK ]

The 19-story Atlas V and the space plane, dubbed the X-37B Orbital Test Vehicle, blasted off from Cape Canaveral in Florida just after 1 p.m. Eastern time.

1 p.m Eastern Time = 8 p.m. Cape Town Time

- The Unidentified Object was seen in Cape Town , South Africa on December 11 ,2012 at 8:30 p.m.[ Cape Town Time ]

Hence , judging by the time of Rocket Launch , it seems they are not UFOs , rather part of the Rocket [ Expelled During stage separation ]

all say they were redish/orange

That is the same color meteors our Father in Heaven showed me repeatedly in dream. A storm is brewing and I wait for the fallout.

Welcome to the end times and many dull senses will be awakened with the sight of cosmic fire. The fire of Wrath for the heathen whom will be the first delivered to despair and madness for their rebellion and pride against their own Creator.

This world is going to get 'rocked' in more ways than one.

I find it difficult to imagine that an object from that (North Korea missile) distance and height would appear with that level of magnitude over South Africa.

Japan recorded the flight path of the missile and say that they have identified three distinctive points of debris. Debris came down in South Korea's Yellow Sea, a second instance came down further along the coast to the south and the third came down approximately 180 miles to the north of the Philippines. The missile's path took it over Okinowa
