I agree with number three!

Still I wonder if it's the first step to censorship..but anyone who wants to view naughty images will of course find a way.

I would also like to know why the change? Pressured to maybe??

How does anyone know that GOOGLE isn't censoring something else along with censoring P0RN

That's right

You don't know.

Rights are taken inch by inch, not in one whole swoop.

Anyone thougth how MUCH porn is being downloaded at GOOGLE? And now they are saving all searches...they didnt figure on how much porn searches they'd have to save.

I think thats it. They started saving and thought "Oh crap! Where can we store all these ka-zillion searches now they we are..saving?"

you are right, it's off. I googled zoe voss and only got skimpy outfits.

if you follow safe search it will tell you how to turn it off. It's not hard.
Just go to google preference page.. it's all there if you click the safe search button.
edit on 12-12-2012 by GogoVicMorrow because: (no reason given)

I just searchd that term and got plenty of NSFW content...maybe they reverted the change?

Maybe they just disabled the option while working on the new format for privacy settings?

I found a good example of google biasing away from politically incorrect viewpoints.

I entered the search into google:
HLDA UN disability rights treaty

I expected that google would put near the top of their search articles from HLDA or organizations friendly to the home school defense association, describing their opposition to this UN treaty. In most cases we know that UN treaties are thinly veiled attempts to crush freedom and codify the psychotic leftist police state.

I could find no such references from the HLDA point of view within the first few pages from a google search. However performing the same search on dogpile pulled up a number of websites articles through yahoo that were more sympathetic to the HLDA position, such as:

www.hslda.org...
www.lifenews.com...

and many others. In fact I was hard pressed to find a single link that supported HLDA's position on google.

Now even if you are a psychotic leftist and think that it's wonderful that google only reports the 'correct' viewpoints you still have to ask yourself one question? What other content is google hiding? Maybe it's a cure for cancer or the fact that your elected officials are draining the treasury. Do you really want the elite to control your portal into the world?

Please tell me where it is written that you have the RIGHT to uncensored, unbiased search results from a search engine that is run by a privately held company, and said results are provided to you free of charge...

Sometimes I swear that reading threads here on ATS is like sitting at the kiddie table of the internet. THINK before you post!

Well, if you think about it Google does have the right as a private company. The question we should be asking is why we need gatekeepers, whether they charge us directly or by proxy through invasive advertising.
