They seem to have adjusted the menu thats all ...here is the way to disable....Disable the SafeSearch filter

Here's how to disable SafeSearch:
1.Visit the Google Preferences page.
2.In the "SafeSearch Filtering" section, select Do not filter my search results.
3.Click Save Preferences.
I'm in the US, and I see a search settings page, and when I look for a "Google Preferences" page that's where it sends me. Could that be because I'm not signed in?

On the search settings page I see a section for SafeSearch Filtering, but there is no option for "Do not filter my search results."

I see an unchecked option for "filter explicit results", but it seems some moderate filtering is going on at least because I tried searching boobs and it's all non-nude, even without the "filter explicit results". Checking that seems to prevent me from seeing even non-nude boobs which is kind of silly.

I just accept the fact I am completely naked with NO SHAME.

I am willing to testify before congress that all they know of me is completely and 100% true within their personal constructs.

I signed in, and even following their instructions, there is no option to turn off "safe search".

Maybe I'll just start using Bing, as Heff suggested.

Bing works, apparently like Google used to.

I see three options on Bing for safe search, on off and moderate. Why Google dropped this only in the US is puzzling but my guess is it has something to do with some overly puritanical group and Google catering to them? Who knows?

IXquick aka startpage.com also has the same options as Bing, that's my favorite search engine because of its privacy policy, so I think it's even better than Bing.

It took the search term "naked boobs" to return anything graphic but google still effortlessly returned a wall of smut in .14 seconds.

God I love the computer age, ehem, for its academic virtues of course.

Now how do I erase the search history before my wife gets back from the store?

I'm not sure why you can see so much, but the only naked boobs I saw were those big ol ugly fat man boobs, which if I wanted to filter anything, it would be that.

So are you outside the US? If not I don't know how you managed to escape what the article talks about, I'm seeing it here.

Try duckduckgo.com... . its very googlesc. It doesn't filter any content and it doesn't remove results from your query like google does:

google response when searching for certain things like movies.

In response to a complaint we received under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act, we have removed 2 result(s) from this page. If you wish, you may read the DMCA complaint that caused the removal(s) at ChillingEffects.org.

Also I wonder if the true intention of removing the safe search is because of the porn lobbying industry?

They will claim this is for child protection and all but i dont believe it.

they are looking for more ways to have us be more specific in searches. so that they may sellyour data easier.

This looks like a botched implementation. You can set preferences to "no filtering" but:

1) It does not persist
2) It does not work consistently or correctly.

My guess is this will be fixed in a day or two.

I have had trouble with Bing restricting my searches through my old non-smart phone. That is the search engine that is set up through my carrier.I have had it happen at least 10 times over the last 2 months or so.Thanks for a thread that I could add my 2 cents to.

Not only that, but I realized all of this after I was deleting cookies and I had to reset my mobile settings and now I cannot disable my location settings either. I am forced to have Google use my location and save the locations ATM. So I said goodbye to Google and hello again to Ixquick.

Perhaps TPTB have gotten to Google!!??
(foil hat on.....bingggg)

I could do without the porn, but frankly I am seeing the quality of my searches degrade on Google recently. This is especially true if I search for other unpopular subjects related to religion politics or various conspiracy theories and even supplements. The NWO appears to be cracking down.

That's a negative, Ghost Rider... The Safe Search has been disengaged! They did change the layout on the page that you disable it on, however...

So, nothing to see here folks... Move along!

Just another ATS False Flag event...

I remember back in the day when Google used to get search results mixed up sometimes on the image search.

One time when I was like twelve I was searching for boobs and such, and somehow ended up getting a string of real suicide pictures, like people who had turned their head into vegetable soup with a 12-gauge.

Boner was instantly lost for the entire day.

Well, I stopped using Google ages ago. I don't use a company that literally disables security features of various web browsers (and, yes, they do - you can read articles about that). I don't trust them for being unbiased, either. I tend to use ask, at the moment. There are many out there, though. Now, all that said, i set mine to filter out such content, because I have NO wish to stumble across it while hunting something else, and I have kids that use my system, too. Still, that's a personal choice. Weird, though, that they would make it so you can't turn it off, instead of the other way around.....
