Hi People
We've just put up our christmas tree and as usual the crowning glory is George my rubber duck wearing his halo with pride. I'd post a piccie but my camera is playing up an kies is having a row with my phone, I'll post one as soon as I can.
Just thought it would be fun to see what we put on top of our trees.
Happy Christmas to you all.

I take an empty bottle of Johnny Walker, turn it upside down, and stick it nice and firmly into place.

We have a beautiful Angel in traditional style. Placing that on top is the high point of the night for our Son every year.

It's nice you would ask. As it happens, we're decorating tonight and really looking forward to the family time.

A very, very old angel. I believe it comes from Great Great Grandmother. Some of the ornaments are from the 19th century, pressed and painted sheet metal. Because of the two new kittens, six months old this month, everything will be unbreakable on the tree this year.

I don't have a tree this year. I don't think I will get one either.
Feeling rather bah humbugy this year, with the boys grown and out.
Besides, with the two in my avatar, plus a cat, I don't want to be picking it up every day.

I don't put the tree up until closer to Christmas as the cat goes nuts on it and I don't want to have to evict her, but when I do put it up I put a giant velvet bow on top.

It was mine too as a kid.
My sister and I used to take it in turns, now we watch her 'kids' 21 and 23 debate who should have the privilage. Can't wait for a newbee to take over the right.

I have a smiley-face Christmas tree in my classroom. All the ornaments are smiley faces (go figure). The topper is a large, glowing smiley face lamp that I secure to the top. I put a Santa hat on it, and that's my tree. The kids love it, its a happy tree.

Yeah unfortunately kids grow up.
Why not put up a tree and put your kids at the top ?
It's a tough time but we just have to push through, happiness returns and soon you'll be getting phone calls asking for a babysitter
. If i presume correctly ? Then you get the pleasure of refusing and giving in, and get your grandkids for a whole nigh no parents to ruin it.

Good lord Please do not say grand kids yet! They haven't been out THAT long!

Actually, I was talking about this thread to a co-worker, and she told me about a cool fake tree she found that was small. Maybe I will get that and just put it up on the end table.

On topic though, I actually do have an old Angel that my mom bought me when I got my first place. Normally, she's on our tree.
