No matter what you think is going to happen people will still be in fear. The smallest thing could set a group of people into chaotic panic. When I used to ponder this day years back I thought their would be far more fear mongering as we got closer to the day. But it seems less and less people believe something is going to happen. Remember y2k? In my area it seemed that more people believed in Y2k then 2012. I thought that business would shut down to let people spend time with their family's. If your at work on the 21st and something happens (end of the world, or chaotic riots,) your probably not going to get home as fast as you usely do, due to traffic. Are you going to work?

I think this would be a grate opportunity to create a new holiday, a celebration of living. One day when the whole world shuts down to spend time with their loved ones. No money, no tv, no stores, or distractions. I know I know it will never happen but just imagine the power of a holiday like that could create.

My work is open on the 21st.

I, however, took it off. I let everyone know that IF the world ends, I sure as hell am not spending my last few minutes on this Earth being a slave. (Note: I do not believe the World is going to end, but my point remains)

As far as creating a new holiday? No need. People will just use it to further the consumer agenda. "Family" is a thing of the past sadly.

Too many holidays as it is. Just gives the Govt. workers another long weekend that we still have to pay for. And if they work, make that double pay or more. We get one day of rest and they get the same...but we pay them to rest.

My business will be open because...well I still have to eat and pay bills on the 22nd.

Peace

It will just become another commercialized holiday.

A way for companies to make more money off sheeple.

We don't need another holiday for companies to feed off...

My business is open 24/7 regardless of the World ending or not!

Well, we are open til noon, then we are having our Christmas party.
Kind of wish I did believe in all the hype.
It would make the party alot more fun than it is going to be.

I don't have a business, but if I did, I would not support yet another holiday. I know in the U.S. this may not be the case, but in some other places you have:

- Plenty of holidays, with 3 & 4 day weekends (depending on the year);
- Reduced work hours;
- 30-day annual vacations (with extra vacation money);
- 1 extra wage per year;
- Plus a whole bunch of other benefits, as required by law.

I admire people who successfully run a business nowadays.
