it says none of those things... what it does say is that over the past 400,000 years, every time Earth has reached a high temperature/CO2 like we are currently living in, it is followed by thousands of years of cooling...

if you seriously think man has anything to do with that, you are fooling yourself...

But what does this have to do with 2012 bull#? It is impossible to say exactly when the next ice age will hit anyways but i think we can safely say it isnt this year. It could happen over the next decade or in the next thousands of years.

No, Man has been producing more greenhouse gas than anything.... while Earth does have its ways of heating/cooling.. man is speeding the process of wiping us out.

Too bad co2 is not strong enough to counteract a ice age. Ice ages hit even when co2 was in tens of thousands of ppm. In fact history shows that real major link between temps and co2 is that co2 lags behind temperatures.
We are already overdue for a ice age and last little ice age was very close to bring it to the threshold where full ice age hits. Even though co2 is much higher now than in early interglacial the temperatures are still significantly lower.

I will way that I'm an Open-minded type of skeptic,
but to be very honest, I also secretly do wish for at least *something* to happen on December 21 2012,
for no other than reason that I'm very sick & tired already of our worsened, getting shallow, superficial & materialistic sick society/humanity and world nowadays! plus also that NOTHING damn changes, and everyday is the same damn boring mundane life everyday (compared to my vivid human's Imaginations or dreams at night!).

if NOTHING happen, then this so-called "Reality/real-world" is such a big f**king joke, and I don't want to be part of it anymore. these days I seriously feel like I'm an alien trapped in this rotten planet & among rotten species called human beings. #misanthrope

The truth is we can never be certain that a global catastrophe won't occur on any given day. The universe is random. What we can be sure of is that all of the "facts" people claim about December 21 are false. There are no Mayan prophecies. There is no Nibiru. We are not passing through the Galactic Plane. This OP is doing the EXACT SAME THING as most of the other 2012 threads. He is making predictions! It is OBNOXIOUS & ARROGANT to presume you know how things will unfold in the future, you dont. Allow me to elaborate, I hope something devastates this planet not only to "humble" you but to show millions of other people, you never know what is going to happen.

How many "told ya so" videos and threads are surfacing right now? Alot, and its all before the matter! None of you know what will or will not happen, your just hoping to get a tad more virtual credibility which amounts to NOTHING.

Of course but there is the same chance as that happening tomorrow" (no.. lol, we usually see them coming a littleb bit ahead of time) but your ORIGINAL OP STATED in the 2nd line: "When nothing predicted by those claiming to interpret the old sayings and writings, happens, WHICH IS A GUARANTEE, I will be here."

The reason being, the conmen and snake oil salesmen have faded into the background. In the past few months, the past couple years they are actively posting throughout the internet to "warn" people, while simultaneously selling books, videos, survival gear, colloidal silver... But now they know the date is too close. It doesn't make sense investing anymore time/money into a product that has an expiration date.

Yeah, some of them are still scraping what they can off the gullible, but the active marketing campaigns have dried up because they know once the date passes there's no more money to be made. A few of the crafty ones will play on the whole "consciousness shift" BS for a few months after the new year, but as people realize it's the same old crappy life they had before, they'll stop buying into it.

Still wondering why they weren't one of the lucky ones to vibrate at a higher frequency. Some of the women might buy a Lelo and actually vibrate in higher frequencies, maybe even stop playing into doom porn because they found something more satisfying... The world will continue to spin.

Some of us see this, and that's where the, "I told you so." comes into play.

So the world could end tomorrow, ten years from now, a million years from now. (But as someone else mentioned we would probably have some warning.)

That doesn't make any predictions more relevant. There is a calculated probability that the world will be hit with a NEO again in its lifetime, as it has in the past. No sceptic will deny this...

I don't particularly buy into the 2012 hysteria...

while I think anything is possible, including something major happening in a week, my point is that to blow off something/anything happening at any given point in the near future is pure denial. We don't know what causes the cyclic drops in temperatures that we see in that chart. To think that it could possibly be a sudden global event is not that far fetched in my opinion.

As far as man's contribution to CO2... its significany for sure, at least 20% of the totals. meaning its gone from 0.00032% of our atmosphere, up to 0.00038%

CO2 is a very minor part of the issue, and as another poster pointed out, its not a driving force to temperature change, it lags behind...

So, since we're there, and the world didn't end, can we pop corks and issue LOL's?
