Really? So if he's not out to gain anything why does he sell a number of things on his website? For example you too can learn the Maya Vibration Sound Technique for only $130. I wish I could find the post but I remember someone even providing proof that he isn't even of Mayan ancestry. Regardless his "science" is lacking at best. For example the alignment he speaks of is not important. It occurs twice every year and has been occurring on the solstices for decades now. He is just another person trying to cash in on ignorance by exploiting an indigenous people.

EDIT: I just saw your edit. I believe this is the first thread where the video was discussed.

Then you're one sick individual if you want millions of people to suffer just so one person can be humbled. The truth is we can never be certain that a global catastrophe won't occur on any given day. The universe is random. What we can be sure of is that all of the "facts" people claim about December 21 are false. There are no Mayan prophecies. There is no Nibiru. We are not passing through the Galactic Plane. Could we be hit by a planet killer? Of course but there is the same chance as that happening tomorrow, a month from now, or thousands of years down the road.

Your post is very much appreciated. May I add a twist though? What if the TPTB just want people to stop believing in anything and be skeptic so they could not trust anybody, therefore they have no chance of banding together for revolutions. How would one set this up? By Letting people get their hopes up falsely so that when the true time comes they don't believe. (I am not saying 2012 is the real thing after the TPTB cried wolf so many times under disguse. I think it is their biggest cry of wolf.)

My question for you in return is, Why not Believe regardless of what it is in(as long as it causes no violence of course)?

For Those who want to believe. You will be let down, Believe Anyways.

If nothing happens then all it means as the we, here on ATS, prevented the tragedy by bringing awareness to it.

Right?

21st will come and go as the end of the ancient Mayan calendar, but the date that I'm really worried about is Dec 31 for that is the end of OUR calendar... This could be bad…

The hard reality to all this is people have wasted a lot of time, energy and money with the large number of feeders that have prayed on the gullible. This has also affected how people have planned for their future, as in many have basically went into hover mode waiting, why do anything if the world is ending….attitude.

All in all it is not good and I feel there will be many who see Dec 22nd come and say “now what” in a depressive state as everything they have believed for years doesn't happen.

Of course....I would think...so lofty a soul such as yourself realizes there is a difference between a skeptic and a debunker. I am a skeptic. I think skeptic is someone that really wishes there was something special happening and just does not see it and a debunker just flat refuses to see it even when it is falling on his head.

I really do wish there was magic in this universe...that something wonderful and profound was right around the corner...but I personally see no evidence of that. I see...just another day. I so wish I was gifted like some of our fellow members...they see wonder at every turn...they see lights in the sky and shadows moving through the trees...I don't. In nearly every single circumstance...I have found a rational explanation. I am painfully technically minded and generally allow science and knowledge to answer my questions...and it almsot always does.

There is nothing wrong with seeking in your own direction and trying to understand everything with your own thoughts. Sooner or later science will finally quantify what is paranormal and it will be the new normal and we finally can be free of religious dogma for what is. The problems nowdays with science is that is sometimes some scientists are blind to it's own ignorance and frankly can't be objective but cloud their experiments with what the believe is true.

The new age people are probably correct that we will be using meditation more as a tool since only a fool would say no to the bliss if it was easy to achieve.

Why post your thread now? If Everything is going to be fine and dandy wouldn't you wait till the event actually occurs to say I told you so? It seems as if the date scares you somehow and that you are basing your life around this date until the mini prophecy you have created in your mind comes true. In order for your prophecy to be valid it must have an equal opposite result. Thus, your prophecy does not have a 100% chance of becoming truth, which brings me back to my main point of why did you create this thread before the event. Because you believe the event could happen, and you want your opinion to be known whether it becomes truth or fiction because it makes you feel better knowing you prophesied good things for our Earth. I sense a fear of becoming insignificant, an inner struggle of accepting a possible change in how we view our existence. A fear of death.

Accept that you do not know what your fate will be. Accept that you have tricked yourself into having a farcical mind in which what you want comes before what you think.

Think about this, tell me what is it that you still want from this Earth that has compelled you to make a thread proclaiming your dear Earth will stay? If you can answer this simple question, you can prove to yourself that your stake in the Earth is based on not what you want, but a mutual agreement you have made with Earth to stand up for its future even in times of pending doom.

The only glimmer of light we have is the Light. I've seen it...it's real.

Some people expect a climax to strike (or not) on one particular day (or not) only so that they can breath a sigh of relief when it doesn't. Back to business as usual! For these people, this is a defense mechanism of the ego-self. For all we know, "2012" already happened and only to a few people. Would that make it any less significant? Nope. It would just mean that people have a lot to learn. What else is new?

The average Joe-Sixpack has no idea how to understand religion or myth. The very words themselves have been twisted by common usage. The only way to cut through the pop-culture BS and so forth is to study the comparative fields. Comparative mythology, comparative mysticism, comparative religion must be studied for years. And that's just for starters.

The average Joe-Science-Specialist has not studied those fields either. One can specialize in science without religious studies. By the same token, one can be religious without religious studies. No wonder that only a very few people have any idea what's going on! Without an understanding of religion and myth and related fields, one can't form appropriate thoughts, practices, experiences, and expectations.

You can get much in one single evening with the right book/right life experiance and a questioning mind. There is not that much really to get really when you let go of preconcived notions of what is. It is only shifting your view totally from what you have been taught by conditioning in school and by the priests.

But then observation of synchronicity and experiancing the unknown kinda makes it easy to peice the pieces together.
.

So give me reason to prove me wrong, to wash this memory clean. Let the floods cross the distance in your eyes. Give me reason to fill this hole, connect the space between. Let it be enough to reach the truth that lies across this new divide

Firstly let me say that I think there's a 99.9% chance that nothing will happen. I leave a little bit of room for error because there does seem to be a bunch of stuff pointing to the 21st of this month as an important date, and also because I know that nothing is ever absolute, and no one can be 100% certain about anything. So my first point is, no one is perfect, and your sense of absolute certainty is just as unhealthy as those "believers" who believe with absolutely certainty that something Earth shattering will happen. In fact, from a psychological standpoint, I would argue that the skeptics who are the most extreme and obsessed with making threads like this, are really only trying to convince themselves more than anyone else, because of a deeper fear inside them that something may happen. Repeatedly and obsessively we have threads like this popping up lately, more threads than we actually have about something happening on 2012.

When it doesn't, you will then understand me the way I will understand you. We will have more in common at the end of this month than we have ever had. Something in you will click, and a realization will take place. You will be more than disappointed. You will be disgusted.

The believers may be angry and disappointed if nothing happens, but most of them will move on with their lives because deep down they really knew that they were clinging to a lot of circumstantial and flimsy evidence. Now lets just say... for the sake of argument, that the 0.1% chance does manifest its self as something significant occurring on that day. What would be your reaction? Think about this carefully... it would probably shatter your entire world view which you have been clinging onto for dear life. You'd begin to question your sense of reality and why you didn't see it coming. Your mind would open up to a whole array of new possibilities you'd never even considered before. You would then begin to think outside of the box much more often and question your own beliefs much more critically. You will then understand me the way I will understand you. We will have more in common at the end of this month than we have ever had. Something in you will click, and a realization will take place. You will be more than shocked. You will be disgusted.

when niribu hits and vaporizes mankind, do you really want that to be your last words.

nothing is going to happen, because why should mayans, human beings the last time i check, who practiced human sacrifices, know what would happen millennia in the future.

plus i trust God, more that the mayans.

and Jesus clearly said only the Father in Heaven knows when the end will be and not the mayans.

Wow. Despite skepticism being merely a freedom of mind, there is still quite an opposition to it. I guess thinking for oneself causes trouble to the after-worldly.

In my opinion, putting faith in books or myth or mysticism is akin to putting faith in a Dr. Seuss story. If the axioms amount to stories from a book or observations of some strange dream world, all deductions from it are consequently just as illusory and wrong. To deny unfathomable evidence to the contrary of one's beliefs is actually a from of skepticism, but an unhealthy one. The skeptics who are skeptical of truth as it permeates all around them are already deceased mentally, now they only wait for their body—in fact, yearn for it.

Uh, hi... December 21st may or may not bring anything... But 2012-13 is bound to be one of unprecedented change, like it or not. You are no skeptic when you outright deny the possibility beforehand... That is not skepticism, that is ignorance.

That said, it is remarkable that so many predictions center around this timeframe, and here we have real evidence of otherwise unpredictable and never before seen events unfolding before our eyes.

A skeptic says "I dont know".. You are saying "I KNOW its no". this is insufficient in light of all the things going on in our solar system and on our planet. I doubt that the 21st itself is the end date... But I an more than inclined to believe that we are facing monumental changes within the next year, irreversible and capable of changing the entire way of life on earth.

In conclusion, I doubt the 21st will be the end date, but I do find merit in the fact that this IS the most prophecied time in human history AND: very big and very strange things ARE happening.

Do some more research before you wash your hands of this entirely, id, suggest

Consider: no man will know the day our the hour....

We measure time by our relative position to the sun. If there was an enormous pole shift, or if we are knocked off our regular orbit, then no man WOULD know what day our what time it was anymore, now would he?

Time and date itself would be upended... Making for a wonderful opportunity to hmm... Stop recording it?
