When you reach a certain point in status, the ads disappear. As to why they remain that way, even when you are logged off, my guess would be that Chrome is still using your history to refresh. One of the tricks Chrome has to make it the fastest browser.

To test this, log out of ATS, navigate away from the sight, clear your history, and then return and surf without logging in. I imagine things will have changed.
