I think Chilly D's Sports Lounge, part of the Cameo Club Casino will be coughing up some dough.
That obviously was not intended to be printed out and when the waiter/waitress/whomever typed it in never thought or didn't realize or simply forgot it would be printed out on their receipt. It's inexcusable.

Things like this and the often repeated urban legends of employees peeing in the pickle barrel/jar or the stories of the cook spitting on the food is reason enough for me to pick the places I dine carefully.

2 pennies.

P.S. Kiss the cook

Let's not go over the top. It wasn't that bad, seriously. Don't take things to heart, is the moral of this story.

I would sure be upset if I got the check and it read 'Bald guy'. Oh wait, no I wouldn't!

So, it's okay to BE fat, but it's just another thing that no one can say.

Honestly, it would be perfectly fine if I were fat and the bill read, 'Fat guy'. It's just stating the obvious so the waiter can keep better track of his customers.

I wonder how they would've felt if it said 'Big Beautiful Mamas'?

OK 1 joke is funny but almost every response in this thread is derogatory and completely lacking in compassion or empathy.

Yeah they are fat, yeah people would automatically think that when they see them, yeah maybe they should do something about their weight but the point is that these women were insulted to their faces completely unnecessarily and without provocation.

If I lived in that area I wouldnt be going in that restaurant after seeing how customers are treated.

To the people in this thread saying they should look at themselves and do something or that they are ugly you sound like complete and utter A'holes.

No one has the right to make other people feel bad and thats the point you all seem to be missing

He should have put skinny chicks. Irony is much funnier than pointing out the blatantly obvious. I don't understand why this is news though. You don't like the service, don't go back. If you have proof the guy spit in your burger, then that's news but not this. These chicks are just looking to get a bigger bite (pun intended) of bubba d's pie.

I will agree with the three that the meal should have been fully comp'd and the dude needs to be fired. Someone pointed out above that this is common for servers, and the truth is, it's common at every place people have to work dealing with rude customers. But if I let it slip right in front of them, I'd be more than expecting to be fired.

Nobody deserves to be called fat whether they are or not. They bought food from them and should be treated with the same respect as anyone else. If this was say your mother and her friends or sisters or any of your loved ones I'm sure you wouldn't be cracking jokes. That being said I don't see how this is that big of a deal and if were them I would have kept it to myself as that's pretty embarrassing.

They weren't insulted to their faces, that's the point. It was done in secret and forgot to be taken off of the bill before printing. If you think you can stop people having their own opinions on something like obesity, then there is always going to be a problem.

Oh they'll get sued and the girls will win.
Whether they were fat or not it simply wasn't polite nor appropriate no matter how some perceive it.

Sued for what exactly? There is totally no basis for any kind of lawsuit. As it is.. I bet the meals were comped and I bet the restaurant gave them each like 100$ in gift cards to use at a future visit. You cannot sue for speech protected under the first amendment.

tell it to the wind, no one cares, I have plenty of compassion and truly humane emotions towards the people I deem deserving. Some fat b*tches throwing a hissy fit about what their waiter said, and event that occurred on the completely opposite side of the country, managed to make it to my ears because those idiotic girls had nothing better to do; unequivocally shows the problem with out country, and if you want to go hold their hands, then by all means, send them money, or food. Stop wasting our times and calling us monsters. They need to grow a pair and show a little intestinal fortitude, don't cry everytime some one insults you.

Yep, theyre fat. Maybe the humiliation will prompt them to call jenny craig instead of going to all you can eat restaurants.

Truth Hurts

If the receip would have had " Skinny girls" would anyone get insulted? no even if they were anorectic. We are actually giving too much consolations to obesity nowadays and every word which would describe the matter as it is have become insult.

A hateful and stupid thing for the waiter to do. Shows an obvious lack of empathy and some deep personal issues on his part.

To me the question really is if this is an isolated incident, or if a post-mortem of their system would show a pattern of describing customers through such thoughtless and blatantly ignorant terms. It is one thing to say "This goes to the fat girls in the back booth..." ( not endorsing doing so - just saying "it's one thing to..." ) and entirely another to write such things on a check intended for the guest.

For those who have never had to work in that environment - descriptors are sometimes necessary to get food expedited. If you pay attention, in most chain restaurants, the person you order from often is not the person who brings you your meal. This is because whoever happens to be standing there, when YOUR food is ready, gets tasked with delivering it. This serves two purposes. First it makes sure HOT food is served. Secondly, it shaves time off of your visit. Every second your butt is in that seat is a second that another paying customer cannot sit there. So turnover is a HUGE part of the industry. Get people fed and out as fast as possible.

Thus things like "The steak goes to the lady in red and the fish to the guy in plaid" is fair game.

"Fat girl" is not.

From a business standpoint? If the manager was unaware of it, then I'd think it the poor choice of an idiot employee who was subsequently terminated. If I discovered that this was not an isolated incident? The management staff would be following the idiot waiter - right out the door an onto the dole.

From a personal standpoint? How sad we are that we point out the obvious flaws in others so readily and eagerly. It's almost as if we're trying to draw attention away from our own flaws.

Sad.

Apparently you aren't familiar with the US legal system, you can start a lawsuit for any number of things. Defamation of Character, Emotional Distress, lost wages... or any number of unreasonable reasons. C'mon think outside the box. Far stranger things have happened then someone woman, taking up and winning a far-fetched lawsuit... remember the McDonalds coffee thing?

These girls need to grow some thicker skin.

Or maybe that's the problem? I'm confused.

The waiters should be fired, plain and simple. Its called customer service. Insulting a customer is not good service.

I do love all of those saying "Well they are fat, so its fine". Im sure plenty of you are ugly, or stupid, or smell bad. Doesnt mean it should be printed on your check.

That the waiters are only suspended, and not already on the unemployment line is a sad statement on where our society is headed.

In the USSA even stating a fact becomes a crime. When the truth is outlawed, only the outlaws will have truth.

PS. They are fat and should be more concerned that they are in fact fat than what someone else says about their fatness. I can think about a bunch of nasty fat jokes now. But seriously, unless there is a medical condition involved, they don't need to be that fat and excessive eatytis isn't a medical condition.

Cheers - Dave
