That when the Govt can give you free stuff, it can take it away, or make you jump through hoops.
I, like the Govt, gave sirhumperdnik a crumb, much like what the Govt does. With that crumb, I have requirements, when said crumb is used/consumed, just like the Govt.

I never once offered to help everyone.
That is the job of the individuals in the given area.

But again, gloss over the whole fact that the Govt can't do anything correctly, so let's keep having them steal from some, take a large percentage off the top, and then hand it out to others. SO long as it is either "for the children" or "to help someone".

So is taking about food stamps supposed to help the entire country, or just you? Because I have already proven that it won't even touch the national debt. You're just peeved because your surplus is used to help those who need it.

That's pretty selfish. If you don't like how America works, then leave the country. I'm sure there's much less compassionate nations that would be happy to welcome a penny-pinching miser.

No, I am not peeved about helping people.
I am peeved that I am forced, by the Govt, to allow them to steal money, because I make a certain amount, take a large percentage of stolen money, and then give it to someone else.
I forgot, when I go to work, I am not exactly working to provide an income for myself and my family.
I have to work to provide for everyone else as well.

Maybe you should personally assess the congressman who will represent you, or the governor, or the President, because you clearly don't trust our elected officials to do their job.

Well Macman...you have fought the good fight on this thread and I give you a tip of the hat. You have stood by your ideals and have defended them in the face of being called terrible things.

All I want is for people to come to grips with something. No "business" does anything without expecting something in return. Sadly....our Gov is a business. It does not offer help without expecting something back. They are enslaving us and no one seems to get it. They are demanding we act this way or that and in exchange...you get to eat today. Does no one else see a problem with this?

I do not understand why some of our brethren want to think the Gov is a friend....that it is somehow beneficial. I hate to break this to you, but you are suffering from a blinding of the eyes. What we now live under is no different than a Monarchial system...your "King" expects certain things and he will have them or else. Sure...the faces change...but the monster...the power behind the throne...is still there...still reaching into your pocket and standing on your throat.

I can only hope that one day people will come to understand the beauty of Liberty...the wonderfulness of freedom.
