As with the other same exact threads on this subject I pose this question... What do you suppose the discrepancy is between the true abortion rate and the reported rate?

As with any statistical data in general and those that are posted to a conspiracy website (reinforced with a YouTube video) in particular I am highly skeptical.

Are you so for the casualization of teen sex you'd drive your 16 year old daughter out to pick up condoms before her big date? Highly doubtful.

I have 2 daughters. I love them more than anything in the world. I would gladly give my life for either of them. They are grown now but i can not fathom allowing them to have sex in their teens. I told them they could not date until they are 40 as a matter of fact. Anyone who allows their teen daughter to have sex with whoever/whenever they want has no business bringing a child into the world. Our job as parents is to teach and protect them until adulthood. There are so many diseases out there that are sexually transmitted that you are playing russian roulette everytime you have sex. The OP obviously has no daughters.

Well, I'm not a hard core Christian [Atheist] or Conservative and I won't be allowing my kids to have sex at home. I've taught them to be responsible, use condoms if they do have sex, but to wait till they are actually in love. They are also taught there is a big difference between love and horny. Are you a parent? Or a teenager tired of the back seat in the car?

Hey Hard-Core Christian Right Conservatives! Here's How Backwards You Really Are!!!

This here title is not helping you to reach your target in a civilised manner. It's rather provocative, so anything that comes after that is to deaf ears. Why do this?

I don't get the logic. Why insult the people you want to reach out to?

You gotta love this data. It's HILARIOUS!!

Background:
In the Netherlands the attitudes towards teen sex are much, much, more casual. It's just not a big deal. In fact 2/3 of Dutch parents permit their high school aged sons and daughters to spend the night at one or the others house, sleep in the same bed, and fornicate like rabbits if that's what they want to do. Moreover, the government not only teaches contraception in their Sex Ed classes...but the government actually gives them as much free contraception and as many publicly funded abortions as these teenagers ask for. Here are their teen pregnancy and abortions.

-Teen Pregnancy : 7.7 out of 1,000.
-Teen Abortion: 3.9 out of 1,000.

Conversely, the state of Mississippi here in the good ol' USA teaches abstinence in Sex Ed, frequently issues misinformation regarding contraception (much less FREE govt. provided contraception), and it's uncommon for teens to be permitted to get it on at Mom and Dad's house with their full permission (to say the least) and there is only a SINGLE Abortion clinic IN THE ENTIRE STATE. Here's what their numbers look like.

-Teen Pregnancy : 55 out of 1,000.
-Teen Abortion: 30.2 out of 1,000.

Yes...that's right. Teens are 86% LESS likely to get pregnant and 87.1% LESS likely to have an abortion when they live under the liberal permissiveness of European-style socialism governed by Secular Humanists who subsidize abortion and contraception with taxpayer dollars.

Any questions?

...

Yes I have at least one question and a couple of eye openers for you and possibly others on the forum since I haven't seen this question raised nor the comments that will follow it.

Is there any way you can explain how the word Christian and Right Wing Conservative necessarily belong together? I know many NON Christians who are VERY right wing thinking, and many Christians who see things Very differently even though they are VERY conservative in their own way. It is my feeling that your title is a ridiculous comment that is not even backed up in your post.

As most Bible reading Christians know, Mary, the mother of Jesus, was around 12 years of age when betrothed to Joseph and had Jesus about a year later. We force our young adults to remain children in modern society far longer than they did in older times. Women reach child bearing age at around 12. It is the way we are designed, but it is the societies who decide that young adults must remain ignorant of their adulthood for up to 6 more years AFTER their bodies are already telling them they are ready for something. This is frustrating on the entire human process in a way I believe. I am a Christian but I believe we are not seeing things as they should be. Many societies have taken some things out of context and taken them too far. This is why those numbers are messed up.

I'm also NOT saying all parents should immediately start treating their children like adults at the age of 12. But people do need to get a more realistic idea of what is TRULY happening when your children reach puberty. In physiological terms their bodies can mate and bear children. IF they were wild animals they would probably be going at it and Mom n Dad wouldn't be batting an eye. But because we are human and dress them up in little people clothes until they are about 15 and don't allow them much personal freedom until the age of 18, we freak out at the thought of them even thinking about sex. That is a LOT of natural inclinations being denied for between 4 and 6 years. It's no wonder they go ape nuts when they turn 18. A little understanding and acceptance of where their bodys are at in their life cycle will help the parent and the child so much and yet people will refuse to even do this much to help their child grow up a fuller person. It's no wonder the poor dears are confused as can be by the time they're 20.

OOps almost forgot the link for my info about Mary:
en.wikipedia.org...(mother_of_Jesus)
"She married Joseph and accompanied him to Bethlehem, where Jesus was born. In keeping with Jewish custom, the betrothal would have taken place when she was around 12, and the birth of Jesus about a year later."

I've got no beef with Christians. Just leave me and mine alone, and we'll be good. I made decisions about how I wanted to raise my kids based on sound scientific reasoning, and they turned out great. You make yours based on whatever you like, and I'll leave you to it.

I have, and will continue to leave you and your's alone. The only people pushing anything here is those who are targeting the religious.

Many atheist wish to be left alone, but many zealously push a anti christian theme, to me this seems they are exactly like they Christians they hate in this respect.

And they always seem to be OK with all other religions, so that leaves me to believe there is much more to the Christian bashing than meets the eye., especially when the main focus in this case is sex?
really?

Christians today for the most part are not like the Christians of the past,

Well it is my understanding that the Dutch have created a monster and are now trying to reign it back in, this has always been my position, when things become unbalanced the pendulum will swing back hard,

Cannot post links but there are plenty to prove my point.

the prostitutes themselves are admitting that state-sanctioned prostitution is a failed social experiment.

Two different countries with different cultures and focal points

Hey John can swim pretty fast in that pool over there by doing action A
But Alex over there is swimming more slow by doing action B in that dirty pool with dense oil taking up more space than water

So John action A must be the faster approach

Its hardly valid to compare Mississippi and the Netherlands. Education, intelligence and income disparities put them at polar opposites of the spectrum. Staying in Mississippi is in essence "failing your IQ test" as all the smart people leave.

You look at low teen birthrates as some kind of achievement, but the population is crashing all through Europe. The only people in Europe that have birthrates above break even are the immigrants.

No it isn't. The Christian God is tyrannical and has committed genocide in the OT. The new testament message is accept Jesus or go to hell. It tells you how to live, what is "sin" or not.

It is a totalitarian religion.

ahhhh ignorance....It runs and runs and gets you nowhere fast....

What can be easily found is the opposite from the op's conclusions.
Just look at the stats before and after 1968 when prayer in schools was outlawed to see where religious influence went to the back of the class and liberal agendas permeated the core thinking that lead us to this depravity. The stats simply do not lie!

America’s decline since prayer was removed from schools

Since the Supreme Court banned school prayer in 1963:

the murder rate tripled;

Violent crime went up 544%;

Prior to 1963, divorce had been declining for 15 consecutive years. After 1963, the divorce rate more than doubled;

unwed birth rates 10-14 years of age shot up 553% by 1983;

Sexually transmitted disease rates (15-19 years of age range) shot up 226% by 1975;

the percent of children living in fatherless households increased from 6% to 40%.

Nationally syndicated columnist William Raspberry writes:

“Almost every commentator on the current scene bemoans the increase of violence, lowered ethical standards and loss of civility that mark American society. Is the decline of religious influence part of what is happening to us? Is it not just possible that antireligious bias masquerading as religious neutrality is costing more than we have been willing to acknowledge?”[17]

www.tldm.org...

I think the op is too young to understand such a complex issue, too immature to set aside his obvious bias and ignorance to see real stats that tell the real story.

Interesting that the OP goes for "HARD CORE CHRISTIAN RIGHT CONSERVATIVES" and then jumps out to European Countries where there are no "HARD CORE CHRISTIAN RIGHT CONSERVATIVES".

Please people, get your thoughts together and your heads screwed on straight.

AMERICA is the only place in the world that has "HARD CORE CHRISTIAN RIGHT CONSERVATIVES" to speak of.

Religions suggest a certain type of behaviour. You're free to accept the dogma of a specific religion or deny it. Your choice.

Governments create laws and demand a certain type of behaviour. There is not freedom to choose which laws you want to accept or not. With government, you either accept thier "dogma" or get punished.

Interesting. When is the church going to admit mainstream religions are total bs? We have so much evidence for ancient aliens only a stubborn dumb person would continue to believe superstitions, for the sake of believing them, for the sake of being controlled? How many wars have been fought with religion being the main pretext? How many people have died with religious sacrifice? Heck some people even sacrifice goats and chickens at the altar TODAY!

Only demons and lucifer require sacrfice. Probably all religions are based on this!

Angels and god require common sense and good behavior.

Then there are agnostics and atheists, of which neither is a religion.

So this is an opinion thread demonising christians based on data (incomplete) from another country.

Exactly Beezer and my first post, matched that perfectly, the country and the OP.

So there you have another case of unrecognized genius.
I jest.

Why have kids if you are going to torture them like that?

Birth control is very important and in many schools they teach it. It goes a long way to prevent unwanted pregnancies and venereal disease. Think about it.

Not that I advocate teens having lots of sex either. No one likes getting called a whore.
