I found this strange "like metallic" object in the photo "Curiosity self-portrait" upload.wikimedia.org... right in the "Eye" of the rover.

Thats odd. You do know its a composite of images and not a real photo, right? Just like the family portrait from voyager 1

Actually, the part you pointed out is the actual turret - the mechanical arm. The MAHLI camera is attached to it.


This is the turret with the MAHLI camera - exactly what is "In Curiosity's Eye":




If you flip that image upside down, you will see it is a perfect match.

According to this site it is a reflection of itself.



Specifically it is a reflection of its turret. In the picture below I have circled the part of the rover that is being reflected.

It was a great catch.. I wouldn't have spotted it myself, but being the extreme skeptic that I am, I would have seen it and just assumed it was mundane.

I thought Mars's atmosphere was a lot redder than that and what is that grey line in the background route 66 ?
