Lighten up? Lighten up... some poor woman has just died because of a prank phone call.
I do not know what was happening in this womens life but like someone said it may have been the tipping point.
I tried to put myself in the two womens position and I would have not thought "Oh it has to be a prank" and I woulda fallen for it but what those two radio people didn't think about is patient confidentiality is serious and I have seen 2 nurses get fired for breaking it.
Maybe she was about to get fired but they will never tell us that now she is dead.

I think a much sadder thing is that people are so willing to believe the appearance of reality without digging beneath the surface. Yes, for all we know, she might well have taken her life thanks to the hoax of two radio presenters. That is a feasible possibility. But it is also possible to theorise that she was murdered for leaking information about the Royal family and that the breach is being used to create harsher laws against information sharing. Both positions contain a modicum of truth. Why not learn to think dialectically instead of simply taking up a single position on this story? After all, it has only just broken!

This "prank" wasn't aimed at the Royal's....it was aimed at the hospital staff

Thing is what the radio people did was wrong even if it wasn't a royal involved.
Who in there right mind would waste nurses time by ringing a hospital?
Also those two were in trouble anyhow with the broadcasting regulations anyhow.

Well, I hope those DJ's are real proud of themselves either way.
I'm sure they are, after all, look at all the media coverage they received.
Pranks are funny and I couldn't and don't want to imagine a world without them. The receptionist should have known better and it is her fault for giving out the information. She should have taken her lumps and moved on with her life. In no way is it the DJ's fault she killed herself. As soon as people quit playing the blame game and start taking resposiblility for their own actions is when the world will start to grow in a positive way. Let the weak weed themselves out without it being someone else's fault all the time.

Are you actually serious? The nurse in question thought she was talking to a member of the Royal Family - in which case she did not think that she was making a breach of confidence at the time. That she was foolish enough to believe the phone call is no reason to suppose that she meaningfully breached the guidelines.

Why do you believe that? You must have a reason...
All of this is meaningless speculation. Its infinitely more likely that the circumstances of this woman's life, coupled with this latest incident, caused her to take her own life.
Murder? Who? Why? No motive here, just a poor, duped woman. Beyond that your just talking.

You people assume that the nurse committed suicide because of the hoax phone call. We do not know that. It could have been anything. She could have had depression or other issues. We do not know ...

Your right I would probably have fallen for the prank too but then why did the hospital put this poor woman in a position where this could happen to her, why did the royal protection squad not prevent it. How is it that a lowely nurse could be put in such a position where medical confidentiality could be unwittingly given out?
You have to ask the question why the royal’s with their extreme wealth and expediency in dealing with public interest in their lives let this happen. The hospital is private and obviously caters for high profile people so they would also have plenty of experience in dealing with public interest to, they would have systems and procedures in place to mitigate the chances of public interest turning into public embarrassment.
So we have SIS, Royal Protection Team, Hospital Systems/Procedures all gone to the wall and a nurse is that last line of defence, she then tops herself (apparently) and people want to blame the DJ’s for her death, now that is crazy!
