I've had it twice. I clicked on the 1st option 'fictional character' as it's a toon from world of warcraft How very dare they! lol

Wow...the whole lot of you. I think you 3 members are the reason I cant post in the 9/11 threads yet. You guys are bickering for little to no reason. We get it, infidel doesn't want to just hand over info, you two others don't think the evidence exists(for which there are possibly threads containing said evidence on ATS) Instead of barking up infidels tree, do a simple search instead of wasting time arguing back and forth...what the hell's wrong with you people...lol.

In my experience, if you are going to be followed or tracked, make it as interesting for those watching as possible, if not down right embarassing for them in the process. So in this case of youtube, if they are going to be following me on what I am watching, well then, let them, what all will they learn, but that which I choose to let them, a complete and utter false hood of lies and outright creepiness, nothing like me.

I don't see why it really makes a difference to your thread, and as I've mentioned a few times now, I'm not after evidence, I don't care about the subject. People with the lazy or defensive attitude infidel has demonstrated annoy me. If it bothers you that much then skip over the few posts, people that are interested in the thread will still post. I won't any more though because I have made my point whether it sinks in or not.

Yup, I went throught that too. Can't remember the options they listed but I didn't change my user name. Also sometimes you get a message to update your account with a home or cell phone number(in case I forgot my password, yeah, right), didn't go for that one either.

I hate youtube so S&F. They forgot what makes them interesting and now try to funnel people into CATEGORIES. You can't just find random videos any longer, you have to subscribe to CHANNELS. As if you really want every video this person made no matter who it is. God forbid you accidentally watch videos on topic you don't particularly like but showed a casual interest - you are stuck with an offering of videos related to that. It sucks and I don't go there to browse anymore like I used to. I can't stand the "because you watched" selections youtube picks for me.

We should all agree, NEVER CLICK ON A YOUTUBE AD until they go back to the old format.

What they are doing is positioning themselves to be solely "advertisers" who sponsor any and all videos.
BUSINESSES HAVE LOST THE ETHICAL RESPONSIBILITY TO DO THE WORK FIRST.

Kiddie porn, animal cruelty, graphic sex and pornography - all acceptable, at least for a little while.

A number of people have to BE GROSSLY OFFENDED FIRST, before youtube does what it should have in the first place, screened and reported or removed the unacceptable video. This is like sending out poorly tested Rx drugs and if a lot of people die, recall them.


Almost all businesses have become unabashed profiteers above all other values - and we are tending more and more to admire that. Privacy be damned. It is INSANE!!

I don't mind them putting fishing ads with the fishing videos and Higher Education ads with the TED talks but their use and sale of our personal information, attracting advertisers with intimate details about people based on watch history is pretty aggressive and extreme.

Youtube and all social media are taking market profiling to an intrusive, abusive and personally offensive possibly illegal new low. If people don't fight back for some personal privacy rights they are going to lose them all.

It's not just YouTube, Your information is a very serious business. Google is the worst (YouTube being owned by Google). It's actually always been pretty bad, but they gotta keep up and make that thing smarter every now and then.
Everything you Google is thrown back at you. If you're not using an ad blocker, you might notice most adverts are loosely (sometimes not so loosely) related to what you were searching. Sometimes you might even get coupons in the mail pertaining to something you Google a lot (baby stuff is a common one since people tend to do quite a bit of web searching when they're pregnant.) Target is good at this kind of thing.

Disclaimer: I hate using this site as a source, but it's the first that pops up on search and I'm too lazy to waste time looking for the exact same information on a reputable site. I know I've seen this story on a more legit in the past.
