Kick them when they're down? Of course.

And so a city tree falls on a private property and who gets a citation? The little guy of course. The City has said it's just a formality but we all know how that goes.

BTW...a citation goes on the record of the property apparently. So if there's a problem in the future, they just go back into the files and look for past marks against the property.

The Department of building says "The Citations Will Stand" while State lawmakers are demanding the citations be removed. Who will win this one?

That is just ridiculous! After the damaging storms 'derecho' came through here in may of 09' we had a year to clean up..people were on waiting list for tree cutters and back hoes for months..they were so backed up..the cities here knew that and gave people a year to clean up and for insurance claims to be made. Our insurance guy didn't even visit us for almost 2 months after the storm!
