Actually, it's a pet hate of most Aussies lol. Shrimp is an American word, Hogan only used it because there was a question as to whether Americans would know what a "Prawn" is.

Former Prime Minister of New Zealand Helen Clark used to do this sort of thing all the time on lots of New Zealand TV shows. She even convinced Prince Charles play himself on a New Zealand cartoon show once. It was called "Bro Town", probably the NZ equivalent of South Park.

We Aussies live down under the world but that's not at the end of it.

Take me for instance, I might come of as a skeptic but only to see the way others react to my skepticism when they have made a claim that I found had a insufficient explanation for their experience or idea they're trying to pass on. I believe, whether you relay truth or deception, A lie can be a true lie and create a path to truth.

I feel as though this was in very bad taste, comedy or not, I found that over the years, last 20 or so, how comedy has changed into a very vulgar/violent/sexual act to entertain, funny at times concerning at others, I guess that's the point we all have different senses of humor but I feel its turning too controversial, but will it create tolerance or divide society more?

I think its funny ... whats even more funny is every time Julia talks I think of kath and kim the tv show. its god awful that accent.

Aussie here too,

Many Aussies will also be ignorant of the amount doom and gloom being spread over the web and how some have been put in a state of enough fear or depression to take their lives as some young people have in recent times.

Humor is needed but a balance must be found with respect, take Islam for instance and the recent mockeries of their Prophet Mohammed. Yeah sure I and you have tolerance when jokes are made about our beliefs but we should not try and force tolerance on others by taking jabs at them knowing we will get a reaction.
Same goes for this, many internet junkies take one or another theory concerning 21/12 seriously, we have seen what results in spreading fear of the unknown with youngsters taking their lives after being deceived.

Poor form on who ever organized this whether it be ABC, triple j or the Govt.
Gillard has me confused, I cant tell whether she has all her strings controlled by opposing forces or whether she has a hold of some of her own.
