Is all one or is all separate? Is the universe trillions of individual units or is it one universe? The answer is subjective. It depends on your perspective. You can say you are separate and be correct for you, but your determination is not absolute.

The only thing that is absolute is that we exist. Any definition beyond that is a creation of the mind. Albeit, not always insubstantial. Nevertheless, in absolute terms, untrue.

Therefore, shh. Don't define at all. Just watch.

I'd say the answer is both...

And no, that is not contradictory. Is the human body one body or millions of cells?....both.

Is the universe one universe or infinite parts?....both.

From whence did the Universe come, a single particle of energy or some other matter or anti-matter? So if everything was once connected and one..........

Right. Are murderers good or bad?

In subjective terms, both. In objective terms, neither. They just are.

I'd say it is whatever one wants each lives in a bubble full of all those in their own bubbles. Make ya bubble what ya will no? O but what if baddies can communicate through the bubbles and they wish to dominate all them bubbles?

I have bubble gum and juicy fruit.

I forget who wrote the story of gravity?

The universe was born when what was objective became open for interpretation.

What if...there are no absolutes? What if some of our biggest problems in spirituality come from wanting to apply an absolute definition to everything? Especially when we know so little about the physical universe, let alone the sides we can't touch?

Just food for thought.

A valid and ageless question. I will disagree with something, the only thing we can know is that we experience and therefore exist; but, that does not mean that there is nothing beyond us. The philosophy you promote is called Solipsism. The answer to it is that if you created all the universe, either through thought or whatever manner, it it is all an illusion then why did you create it? If you created it to fool yourself then we are to play through the game as if we believed it were real or we are fighting ourselves. In other words there is no reason to doubt that there exists more than just us.

Is the one absolute truth that we exist? I'm not completely convinced of that.

For all we know we could all just be paranoid constructs being hallucinated by some schizophrenic god on a bender.

Aboriginals on a spiritual level don't even see land as stolen.
They know no body owns it , and they know that because.... they know that you're going somewhere and the land isn't!
So you never own #!
Just another illusion of possession.
Are you here for a visit? so pick up your rubbish MF!

That was a Steve Hughes Quote btw
Thought was poignant to the topic somewhat.

This was the objective fact.

This was the subjective interpretation of the objective fact.

If it isn't true that we exist, how could you reword your sentence to exclude the phrase, "we are"?

You are mostly right. Our undefined existence is absolute. Defining it is the existential shortcoming. So therefore just be. Just watch.

If someone has Multiple Personality Disorder (or whatever they call it now) are all the personalities separate physical individuals or just one physical individual with splintered thought processes?

Depends on the perspective.

True that.

Fear is when you are afraid to watch so you close your eyes.
Hate is when you don't like what you see, so you close your eyes.
Happiness is satisfaction with existence so you open your eyes.
Love is when you are satisfied with existence so you open your eyes.

Chasing happiness doesn't bring happiness. All you have to do is watch and listen. All you have to do to be happy is just be.

From my own messed up mind, not that I consider myself having a disorder, how about the brain analyses all people around it and creates (detailed) images of them in the mind, from which the brain 'guesses' how the other sees you, then creates a personality out of these subtle influences (picked up by how someone is treating you or one's attitude) which the brain then 'wears' like a suit? Meanwhile the complete person is in a kind of deep sleep, dreaming it's wearing this suit. All other people see this suit and they approve or not, reinforcing this suit which makes the wearer feel better making it even more difficult to see through and let go of it.

Most people throughout life would stick to one suit (usually daughters choose their fathers' image of a female suit and sons whatever the mother made for them) but once it's let go one can make their own suit. If one survives mentally ofcourse. One of the most primal fears of man is the suit would one day be gone, as they didn't create it themselves nor know how it is created if one ever loses it, it's very difficult to recover from.

Anyway the universe is full of seperated things, some come together temporarily to allow for experiencing this reality. Individuality is the greatest good imho, otherwise everyone would be sucked up in this hive mind believing they make choices themselves but really is just the suit doing it's thing.

The word universe is a clue. Uni means one.

We are "God"s version of inception. We are a stray whim within a dream one of his many personalities is having.
