Whats going to Happen when Nothing Happens?

What's going to happen when the morning of December 22nd rolls around and it's just another day as usual?
Nothing out of the ordinary happened the day before, no matter how hard you watched the news.

I would like to propose that "nothing happening" is part of the plan and that this is in fact a conspiracy.

TPTB know that they cannot pull off a show big enough and powerful enough to convince the general population that it was real and not staged.

I believe that TPTB have a more sinister plan in mind. Instead of the massive release of tension and energy that we would like to see happen, should something happen, we will instead have no such release when "nothing" happens.

The mental anguish would be worldwide and will cripple whole cultures at once. Perhaps people will snap and "rage" will be the new "war" to fight.


Like any good book or movie, we can sense when things have reached their climax and we know intuitively when the time has come to have the great climax of the story.

We all seem to know and believe that we have reached this mark, with all of the current problems of the world bubbling over at a full boil.

We know it is time and we believe that time is now.

But what if TPTB were going to make sure "nothing" happened.

Wouldn't this get us even more primed for total police state crackdown?

Is it not one of the goals of TPTB to monitor and control us all?

Let's hope something happens.

All of these pointless threads will hopefully get deleted.

I think it will be a day (the 22nd) when some folks finally think...I gotta get some xmas shopping done!!

I suspect that due to human stupidity, some will commit suicide, some will get depressed, and some will go on rampages.

But for the most part, people will go on about their business as always.

Should be interesting how many people thought that the SHTF end's up killing them selves ...sad but true...already happening in Russia.

Somebody will make up a new doom's day event , and we all will post something on the new thread like we always do.

What we will hear is a lot of crickets.

People who hotly advocated for this will hide in the woodwork and pretend they were never for such a thing in the first place. Others will proclaim that God intervened and stopped the bad stuff from happening because he has mercy on us. Others will claim their prayer circle did the trick, otherwise there would have been chaos, so we have them to thank. Yet others will say invisible aliens were at work healing the planet while dodging scalar weapons launched against them. .

Nothing.

The doom mongers will pour over youtube and look for more tosh involving planetary alignments, channellers, tiny dots of light in the sky and/or errant comets/asteroids on a cataclysmic approach, and proclaim that nothing was ever going to happen on 21st December 2012, it was all because the local hippy had his y fronts on back to front and thus got his solstices and Mayan calenders in a muddle, or TPTB were rumbled by the good and honest members of ATS and decided to postpone Armageddon until no one is looking.
I shouldn't worry too much, I can pretty much guarantee that we will have a new date for impending doom before the years out.

February's good for me.......nothing much ever happens in February.

I think the more important question is, what happens if something happens?

No one knows what to expect

It could be doomsday, it could be mass enlightenment, it could be extra terrestrials coming to earth to tell us our true orgins.

It could be nothing.

I think there is a lot of people out there expecting something to happen and when it doesn't, there will be a lot of disappointment.

If nothing happens on dec 21, that is so so many people wrong. That's a lot of people to be wrong.

Also if nothing happens, what does that really mean for humanities future? Will we just continue on our path of self destruction and let greed and capitalism take over the whole planet until there is nothing left?

Humanity, pre- dec 21, is on a path of self destruction, we will destroy all life on this planet due to our own greed. If dec 21 is not a turning point of some kind, then what hope do we really have?

With world war 3 on the brink of starting, with economic collapse that could come at any time, and with most of the population in the world living on the poverty line, what will happen? With animals dying off, and the amazon rainforest becoming less and less, which supplies the planet with 25% of its oxygen, and with big pharma hiding all cures from the public due to profit..... what hope do we really have?

So the real question is, what happens if something happens. Something needs to happen, humanity is at the point of no return, and we desperately need some sort of major change, a paradigm shift, in order to steer us back onto a sustainable path.

I'll tell you exactly whats going to happen when nothing happens on the 21st. All the doom mongerers on here will suddenly start saying stuff like the 21st is just the beginning of the doomsday starting instead of everything ending on the 21st and from there they will start talking about the 21st being a "start" to something. Pretty dumb people actually believe in this in my opinion but i digress.

this is the best idea ever!

when everyones in fearing for their lives i will get enjoying no cues for my shopping, maybe this year i will be able to nab a huge turkey!

Political discord, economic collapse, wars, natural disasters, are all scenarios that could and will happen in our future.....but no one knows when...... the sooner people accept that there will be no mystical intervention, no aliens, no second coming, just us, on our minuscule rock in the middle of a universe so vast we cannot comprehend it....the better for all.

I'm not saying there isn't intelligent life out there.....it's just not here.....in more ways than one

You realize that beyond a few online goofballs and some peddlers selling fear porn, no one actually believes something is going to happen?

I mean, the "snapping" and "rage" is going to be limited to a very select group of gullible 14 year olds that already have problems being full of angst.

Yeah, 2013 is just the beginning of the end.

It's just phase one, and things like that.

If I were a book seller I'd think very seriously about discounting "all" of my doomsday Mayan books now. Because after the 21st they will be ...

Someone somewhere will come up with something new to worry about.

Until then,party like it's 1999.....

If nothing happens, we'll be mourning a lot of senseless murder-suicides.
Talk about a self-fulfilling prophecy, in a way.

I PREDICT, that after that day has come to pass, we will see a dramatic increase in doomsday predictions

I think that the doomsday prediction will be more frequent, instead of further apart.

I think 2013 will bring a lot more drama into current events that will prompt people to share their paranoia here on ATS forums, by telling us how 'this' particular event that occurred 'today' will lead to 'this' huge event like world war three or something.

So quite the opposite of what everyone else is thinking, where theirs talk of ''people will just grow up and forget about doomsday predictions.''

Expect their to be more activity in the 'Predictions/dreams/prophecies' forums, and maybe a new forum called 2013.

Maybe this post belong in the prediction forum as well.
