Not sure why, but the entire story is not being told. Guess most people either dont care or enjoy it when cops are made to look bad.

The 137 shots fired by 13 officers were due to the FACT that they were trying to run the police over after they were finally forced to stop.

I was involved a bit in the 80's and early 90's when a lot of these departments made the switch from revolvers to high capacity semi autos.

The excuse was by and large that they felt "outgunned" by the criminals and their revolvers werent enough firepower. An excuse which even back then during the height of the crack epidemic was and is statistically bunk on its face.

I guess the cops really showed those criminals. You know, everyone who's not a cop.

The full story is never reported, and either makes you look like a hero, or like villain.

Similar thing happened in London not long after 2005 attacks. Police thought someone was a threat, and shot him dead.

There is probably more to the story. Also it should be considered the cops could be trying to shoot out the engine or tires.

It does seem a bit overkill though.

Also important to ask, how long were the shots fired over? If it was all in one burst that would be overkill. If they attempted to stop them with one volley and they failed to stop, i can understand subsequent volleys to stop them.

Still seems extreme

It only would have taken 6 seconds or so.

When one cop pulls the trigger they all do. They're nervous and trigger happy and despite what they would have you believe they are poorly trained. Poorly trained. Cop quals are a joke and for beat cops force on force training is unheard of.

Even the SWAT guys are relatively poorly trained by private standards.

One of my favorite videos is of the raid on the vet in Arizona, I think it was, where they all pile in the doorway to get their chance to shoot somebody. You can clearly see the poor guys at the back of the stack jumping up and down shooting their handguns unaimed over the heads of those ahead of them just to get a chance to kill another human being.

Sickos. The whole lot of them. No better than the scum they are allegedly chasing.

Maybe the whole thing isn't being told so they have time to get their story straight.

And trust me, many of them don't need help (to look bad).

You don't fire on a vehicle to stop it unless that vehicle is severely endangering civilian life.

137 shots is alot for two people that may or may not be armed. I think it is time for that police brutality forum on ATS that I have heard many members ask for.

This story is insane.

28 cops not knowing why they're firing, but continuing to do so to the tune of 10 rounds a piece on average with no return fire coming back at them ?!

Talk about mob mentality with trigger happy cops...

I read that Most 9mm handguns that are full size would hold between 15 to 17 rounds. so if 13 cops fired 137 times they would almost have to empty their clips.

Summary executions.

Just like 2000 AD.
