HAARP brags about being mostly off-line. Maybe that's because there are little HAARP's ready to do localized work. A little HAARP could fit into a backyard.

The HAARP and Chemtrail Connection

Is it possible that the HAARP scientists could have miniaturized the technology so that they don't need such a large area of land and electrical power as called for in Eastlund's pattents? Manning asked him.
"It's entirely possible," he [Eastlund] replied. "They have had a lot of good engineers working on it for some time. I would hope they have improved it."

Aviation Week reports in 2008 that the United States Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is developing an airborne version of HAARP. BAE Systems, the article tells us, is to demonstrate this unit by towing it, 'behind a helicopter.'

HAARP Technology 2.0 Wrecking Our Environment?

December 1, 2012 - Are miniaturized versions of the world's largest ionospheric heater (HAARP) all around us modifying the weather? Have electromagnetic frequency generators been installed over major fault lines waiting to trigger massive earthquakes? Has our military developed a super weapon that can vaporize entire cities with lightning from the ionosphere? There is evidence that technology exists and is being deployed.

Scientists at the University of California Los Angeles and the High Power Auroral Stimulation (HIPAS) Observatory in Alaska have assembled a new generation of ionospheric heaters. This technology, known as 'Hertzian antennas,' can, "...match or exceed the peak power of the new HAARP system for a fraction of its cost."

I think that HAARP is played out to be much more sinister than it really is.

It amounts to basically a research project as far as I'm concerned.

Yes.
There are several ionospheric heaters in place and the one at HAARP is the most powerful.
So what?

Not if it's a phased array. Pretty hard to do what HAARP does without a phased array.

I thought HISCAT in Norway was the most powerful but maybe things have changed.

You mean EISCAT? Hardly
It has 12, 100kW transmitters for a total of 1.2 MW.
Compare that to HAARP's 360, 10kW transmitters at 3.6MW.

Eastlund's patent called for a heater using between 1 and 100 Gigawatts (col 7, lines 22-23). HAARP uses only 0.0036 Gigawatts. So HAARP is already a vastly reduced version of what Eastlund called for.

And little HAARP's in the backyard would be researching what?

HAARP Technology Words from project managers

John Heckscher, Project Manager HAARP at 2:10: "HAARP began with a congressional insertion into the appropriations bill of fiscal year 1990. In essence, congress directed the DOD to explore the potential for using the auroral regions for improving communications and navigations and surveillance.

"Bernard Eastlund at 2:51: "Applications discussed in the patents included destroying missiles, communications control and disruption were included; there were some other ideas both to possibly modify weather and finally to lift a portion of the upper atmosphere further out into space where hopefully it would be able to deflect missile trajectories."

HAARP Knock, Knock, Knocking on Heaven's Door

A 1990 internal document obtained by POPULAR SCIENCE says the program's overall goal is to "control ionospheric processes in such a way as to greatly improve the performance of military command, control, and communications systems."

HAARP conspiracy theorists dont really know what they are talking about when "identifying" facilities and power

Eg here is one list of "worldwide HAARP ionospheric heaters"

HAARP (belting out MOAR than 1.21 GIGAWATTS!)
Gakona, Alaska, USA
Estimated >4 GW ERP : 2.8 – 10 MHz at 3.6 MW

TROMSO
Ramfjordmoen, Near Tromsø, Norway
1 GW : 222.8-225.4 MHz
(upgrading to 100 GIGAWATT in a move to pwn HAARP) Tromsø EISCAT 3D Details

SURA
Vasilsursk, Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Russia
190 MW ERP- 4.5-9.3 MHz

ARECIBO
Arecibo, Puerto Rico
2.5 MW : 430 MHz (center frequency)

NMRF – NATIONAL MST RADAR FACILITY
Gadanki, Andra Pradesh, India
2.5 MW – 53 MHz

SUPERDARN – JICAMARCA
Lima, Peru
2 MW : 49.92 MHz

SHIGARAKI MU OBSERVATORY
Shigaraki MU observatory, Shigaraki, Japan
1 MW – 46.5 MHz

HIPAS
Fairbanks, Alaska. USA
High Power Auroral Stimulation Observatory
70 MW – 2.85-4.53 MHz

THE RUSSIAN WOODPECKER
“Woodpecker” Duga Radar Array, Chenobyl, Ukraine
РЛС Дуга-1 Чернобыль-2
(Radar arch-1 Chernobyl-2)

URAN VLBI (very long baseline interferometer)
Facilities: GURT, UTR-2, URAN-1, URAN-2, URAN-3, URAN-4
Ukraine

MAARSY
The Middle Atmosphere Alomar Radar System (MAARSY)
Andøya, Norway
800 kW – 53.5MHz

Poker Flat MST Radar
Imaging Riometer
Poker Flat, Alaska, USA

As has already been pointed out, HIPAs has been shut down and most of the equiment sold as surplus years ago

Shigaraki MU , MAARSY, Poker Flat, the Russian "Woodpecker" aer all atmospheric radars.

URAN VLBI is an interferometer for a radio telescope array - no longer functional.

the common feature of them and eth actual ionospheric heaters is that they all use similar arrays of vertical antenna or dipoles fixed to the ground.

and the power thing shows little understanding of what "Effective Radiated Power" (ERP) actually is.

To put it simply - a focused radio transmitter can achieve a higher power in a small area than a transmitter of the same power that transmits equally in all directions.

the "ERP" of a transmitter is the power that an unfocused transmitter would require in order to achieve the same power level at a given range over its entire shpere of transmission.

So HAARP uses 3.6 MW of power - but it focuses it onto a relatively small area. If an unfocused transmitter tried to achieve he same power level at het same range it would require up to 5 giga-watts of power to do so.

But HAARP itself does not transmit 5 GW. And simlarly the ERP's of other facilites reflect the efficiency gained by focusing the rtransmissions, not the actual power transmitted.

HAARP, specifically, is a reasearch facility. When you start saying things like "little HAARPs" you would be talking about little research facilities. And some of the things those research facilities would do is to investigate ways to use the ionosphere for "improving communications and navigation and surveillance". But who knows, there could be some arrays at military installations being used to deny our enemies in their attempts at space surveillance of those bases.

Yes, Eastlund's patent(s) talked about a number of uses for ionospheric manipulation. That's called demonstrating the "usefullness" of an invention. The more uses an inventor can come up with, the better the chances that a patent will be granted. But it doesn't mean that the invention can do everything claimed. Besides, as pointed out, his patents called for a system a thousand times more powerful than HAARP.

S&F
if these antennas are harmless why camouflage/hide them?
btw some of those microwave and similar towers are even camouflaged as trees!

pity you used the trigger word chemtrail
would have been interesting [and revealing
] to see if the same "debunkers" would have replied

look into orgone generators and towerbusting a holy hand grenade or similar type "gifted" nearby
will neutralize any negative radionics

and there's quite a few disguised towers out there

you are doing it wrong.

They arn't harmless - get to close and they can kill you just like any high powered EMF transmitter.

Where are they camouflaged as trees, and is it for anything more sinister than not looking garish in the environment??

Really, any chance you can show some proof that orgone can actually do anything besides fleece people out of money, because there is no scientific support to show orgone can actually do what it is said to do?

There is no empirical support for the concept of orgone in medicine or the physical sciences, and research into the concept ceased with the end of the Institute.[8]

HAARP uses antennas.

Cell Phone towers use antennas.

It's not rocket surgery, they both use antennas, therefore they are both obviously the same thing.

Any conspiracy theorist worth his salt knows how to make two things become one and then blame the bogey man for it. golly gee.. get with it.

Not if it's a phased array. Pretty hard to do what HAARP does without a phased array.

Two answers to that. First one is in the DOD budget to congress (page 4-9):

Missile Defense/Page 4-9/Army Navy/Transportable Radar Surveillance-2

The Army Navy/Transportable Radar Surveillance (AN/TPY-2) is a transportable X-band, high resolution, phased-array radar designed specifically for ballistic missile defense.

2nd answer is in these patents (1st link is a simplified edited version of the 2nd):

HAARP on a budget

Cosmic particle ignition of artificially ionized plasma patterns in the atmosphere

This invention is a method and apparatus for creating artificially ionized regions in the atmosphere utilizing ionization trails of cosmic rays and micro-meteors to ignite plasma patterns in electric field patterns formed by ground based electromagnetic wave radiators. The applications are useful for telecommunications, weather control, lightening protection and defense applications. The invention lowers the power requirements for forming artificial ionized regions in the atmosphere by a factor of up to 1600 times lower than those required in existing designs and projections for creation of artificial ionized regions in the atmosphere.

Also, this thread could easily have been called 'Gigantic HAARP' or 'Collosus HAARP' instead of 'Little HAARP's' because of networking and remote control.

So the question is: what's in your backyard?

So, iyo, HAARP, itself, is already the little HAARP? And making even littler HAARP's is out of the question?

3.6 mega watts is the power in. According to HAARP public relations hand-outs. 4 giga watts is the ERP factoring in the visible phased array and only that. The number depends on the accuracy of the 1st number. No allowances are made in the hand-out literature for auxilliary antenna's.

Alrighty, class - who here understands why cell phone tower masts and HAARP don't go together?

Hint - why can't you receive microwave transmissions beyond line of sight?
