The "Israel" you are referring to are the non-Zionist honest to goodness Jewish people who are completely against what their government and it's policies stand for (edit: KILL for)

Nobody here is saying that the innocent Jewish people living in Israel (or anywhere else for that matter) are "bad people".
There is a faction within them however, who ARE bent on World Domination and this fact can only be disputed by the completely ignorant.

Where did we get the idea? How about the Palestinian Charter itself

Notice especially that last phrase.

I am not in anyway an expert in this issue, but I know many Jews who do not consider themselves Zionists in any way and don't even consider Zionists to be Jewish at all. They say that Zionism is a political regime.

The Zionists have no right of any sovereignty over even one inch of the Holy Land. They do not represent the Jewish people in any way whatsoever. They have no right to speak in the name of the Jewish people. Therefore, their words, declarations and actions are not in any way representative of the Jewish people. This is because the Zionists' seizing of power over the Holy Land is antithetical to Jewish law, and also because the Zionists do not behave like Jews at all rather, they desecrate the sanctity of the land.

This might not be true but saying that Palestinians want eradication of Israel and the Jews is like saying that Americans want eradication of Iraq and all Muslims. It's just not true.

I am a Canadian as well. I am extremely happy with the Conservative government for standing up for countries that are our only allies in the Middle East. Israel is a democratic and free country, that is much more than can be said for any other middle eastern country like Iran, Syria, Egypt etc. Israel does not kill gay people, chop off hands for stealing, stone women to death and prevent them from going to school. If a country does not stand up for the principles it is founded on, then what use is there to keep those principles? Israel took over the Gaza strip and because they felt that they did not give enough to the Palestinian people, then they gave them the Gaza strip. Now the Palestinian's are bombing them! They gave them a land and an outline for a democratic country, they didn't accept either and instead attacked Israel.
Why shouldn't Canada stand up for the ideas of freedom, equality and democracy?
To quote Martin Luther King Jr "In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends."
If everyone is silent about Israel and no one stands up for them, they will be taken off the earth and those law-abiding, freedom-loving citizens will die and those who stayed silent will be to blame.

That's all fine and good, but there's a problem with Palestine and it's called Hamas. Nevertheless Canada of all countries shouldn't be taking a side, and we ought to stand firm for a two state solution, and demand Israel's respect for human rights. It's a tough call, but siding almost exclusively with Israel isn't congruent with Canadian ideals, no.

Why all the love for Palestinians but no love for the people rotting in North Korean politcal re-education camps?

People bluster in outrage over the "plight" of the poor Palestinians (who have zero compunction for targeting and killing civilians) but nothing but gulfs of silence on the untold multitudes truly oppressed, tortured, and condemned to a lifetime of slavery and misery in North Korea.

I think it's because the US has started to move away politically from Israel and Israel is seeing this happen. In other words, Israel has almost sucked the US dry and are looking for fresh meat.

Jews do not equal Zionism

Zionism is an ideology.

Would you rally against an official stance that aims for the elimination of anti-semitism?
