Something Big Tuesday Dec. 4th, 2012

I must say Im very proud of ATS for not one single flag or star at this point. Gives me hope for the rest of the month.

I feel for the mods however.

ATS is so unforgiving sometimes...pretty vague OP but then again everybody laughed at Noah...

Predictions seem to fall into the realm of metaphysics or just supernatural which is to say beyond detection of our present senses, so they can only be proven after the fact which is kind of pointless.

We seemingly tend to judge predictions by probability. Example being "I predict that the sun will rise tomorrow" which, based on all the previous sunrises, would probably be a true prediction, but would be a prediction nonetheless.

Funny thing about probability: if you flip a coin 100 times and 100 times it lands on heads, what is the chance it will land on heads on the next flip? 50%. In our mind the chance to flip on tails would be exceedingly high because of the pattern recognition that humans see.

This whole coin flip example would be an example of Intuition versus Mathematics. Observable phenomenon versus Feelings. Neither of these (Intuition and Feelings)can be discounted from the perspective of the observer, but are impossible to convey as facts to others.

Can you prove/disprove someone who claims to have been to heaven or hell? Of course not. You were not the Observer. All things that fall beyond our understanding require some measure of faith in the unknown.

Here's the thing. You gave a nice well thought out post. You put time and effort into your contribution to ATS. This person is doing this to be a troll.

How can I assume such a thing? Well I direct you back to your own analogy; the sun rises, and you can predict it will rise again. Well here at ATS, we have dooms day predictors, and they are always wrong, thus this one (again like most with no shred of proof) will be wrong, and never heard from again because they don't actually have something valuable to contribute.

What defines "big"?

Is it a dollar value or a death toll? If it's dollars, what defines big? 10 million? 100 million...billions? If it's death toll...heaven forbid...what is big to you? 1? 5? 40? Hundreds?

If I were to sprout eagle wings and fart butterflies...that would be pretty big.

So please...help us define "big"...otherwise, anything at all could be confiscated and claimed as a "hit" and success. You have to define "big" or you can't claim victory for any event tomorrow...

If you predict something vague enough...you are more than likely gonna hit something...

I predict...a failed prediction.

Been checking the news, the Jews are peeving everyone off again in Israel, and the USA has threatened Syria about the possible use of bio weapons, so something could kick off there.....(just trying to be helpful).

Oh and Kate and William are expecting a baby....maybe it will be the second coming

Global events happen everyday. There was something yesterday that would have fit your prediction, there was something today, and there will be something tomorrow.

So how about you give us a level here.. something to the degree of (insert comparison to past even).

You don't really have to do that, I think my point is made, but if you are feeling lucky you can.

I absolutely guarantee a very important and critical event will indeed happen as predicted. Just because an event happens regularly (on the order of every 11 minutes worldwide) does NOT make it any less crucial and highly necessary to continued order in the universe. The prediction is this:

Pigs will die. They will be butchered. Bacon will be cured and distributed. Life will be improved.
