I haven't bothered to look personally because I don't buy the idea that the entire world community of Astronomers would treat such an event as
routine and boring. I think we'd be hearing about it for the science aspect as much or more than Halley's Comet. Since when did science types care
if they happen to feed a doomsday belief at the same time? Never stopped them before... lol.
However, If I were determined to waste my personal time seeing how this description of an alignment isn't quite a real one....just like almost all
the others turn out to be...I'd plug in the geographic coordinates of the Giza Plateau to Stellarium and then find the largest of the planets said to
be aligning. Once the brighter of them is located in reference to the ground location, given the date, the others should be in near alignment to the
first already. At least, I'd guess they'd be within the same general patch of sky. Then just play with dates until the dots overlap ...if they ever
do a real alignment as opposed to coincidental positioning well off the orbital plane.
Someone tell the thread if they do take the time to run sky positions on all the important stuff for the coming 15-20 days. (I kinda figure it's been
done a few thousand times already tho...which is frankly why I'm not)
