Well since most of the people here use that size i thought it would be okay but i can always make it bigger or something if you want to hope you like here you go :

Yes 50x500 is the signature size. (50 height by 500 width).

They can be 600 x 70 pixels

Eg: Sugarcookie1 current signature is 586 x 70.

NB: When we did the comp we limited it to 500 x 50 so we could also fit text links in our signature for other things.

Ahh! Always thought it was 500x50, at least that's what mine is when I made it. But I think it's the perfect size, didn't want it too big after all.

Hi All,

After looking through all your great work I was wondering if someone might be able to help me make a avatar / background?

The one I currently have is just a picture I took of a train station, but I think I'd like to change it.

What I'm hoping to wind up with is something western, kind of High Plains Drifter-ish. I'm thinking something in a sepia / brownish tone, possibly even over exposed, but not so much you can't recognize it. I put in my Bio "seeker of knowledge Defender of truth"; I don't know if we could work that in somehow / somewhere (maybe just the Defender of truth part...or maybe I can just put all that in a signature). What I'm hoping to capture is that mental image of I don't know, 'desolation' I guess, you get from the movie; the character agains a desolate backdrop in shadow.

Is this something someone might be able to help me with?

I'll look around and see if I can find some base images to start with, but so far I haven't been really successful.

Ah man... I’ve been working all along on the assumption that the requirements are 500X50 and 25k as posted here and here

Although I would welcome the extra room.

If the signature guidelines have been updated, I can't find them anywhere.

CORRECTION:

ATS Avatars should be no larger than 170 pixels wide by 240 pixels tall, with a maximum file size of 75kb.

ATS Mini-Profile Backgrounds should be no larger than 200 pixels wide by 700 pixels tall, with a maximum file size of 150kb.

ATS Signature Images should be no larger than 600 pixels wide by 70 pixels tall, with a maximum file size of 50kb.

you want it more like Mad Max? Or more like The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly? Rock n roll, or country, I guess? Futuristic, or historical?

So, I'm thining kind of possibly a little futuristic in a historical looking way (if that makes any sense). Western themed more along the good, bad and ugly, HPD, Hang 'em high genre (spaghetti western I guess you'd call it).

In real life I actually have a foot in both worlds (work in electronics and aviation, but run cows on a ranch at home).

The desolation part I was referring to is the sort of 'truth is out there somewhere' theme.

Hopefully I haven't confused things further with this explanation.

So, if i take the concept of a space cowboy, mixed with the wild frontier, mixed with the far reaches of mystery/space?

I have grown so sick of the same old UFO videos. The same daily "Doom Porn" of the political debate. The abject lies and obfuscations in news.

I pretty much just stick to this forum, maybe science/tech, and ancient civs. The rest of the forum has degraded since the departure of folks like Zorgon and Protoplasmic Traveller.
