Max displayable length with a standard 170x240 trans .gif is 467 ...on the money.

EDIT: I used basically the same method to determine this as with the transparent animated gif alignments.

I don't think 1-2 lines for custom title will change the length, but I didn't test that.

EDIT 2: Yep.. 2 line custom title changes the equation..SO, why did you make this so difficult!!!!?!?!?!?!

Pass 2. Triangle is gone, alien head larger.

EDIT: add this into your 'use as avatar space' and hit submit, just remove the space between the h and the t first.

h ttp://files.abovetopsecret.com/files/img/pu4ffdf498.gif

Then set the image you want to use as 'background image, like this;

When it comes up with this page, hit submit.

You should then have the full image

Apparently you are correct. I never noticed I guess. I just added a red single pixel thick red boarder and it does not show on the right, top, or bottom. I will leave it for a bit so you can see.

It goes in your Profile Background, not Avatar space. Look right above the spot you are putting the link in.

I had the same trouble calculating for different lines of text. I switched to the most common three line version.

Also, I've changed resolution on my screen, width and height, and the rendering factors in as well. I think we need to shoot for the average. Where's that at?

Definitely some strangeness going on here

I just measured the displayable for 2-line custom title and it was 482

I'm going to guess around 468 for 1-line custom title and 480 for 2-line.

EDIT: unless there is a difference between no custom title and 1-line

EDIT 2: Nope.. no difference between 0 and 1 line custom title.

EDIT 3: At least the random generator only crops from the edges rather than moving the image around

One ATS logo

Remember to put the image in the 'use as background' and hit submit to get the fully effect.

Don't forget to put the invisible gif in the 'use as avatar' space first. (Remember to remove the space between the h and the t.)

Here is the one I did for you. Feel free to keep it for a rainy day or if you just feel like a change or leave it or someone else.

I could post a long preamble to this by going on about the mathematical tribulations of my job, and the depths to which I have delved over the last 10 weeks. But I will save you the agony, and just ask for a simple explanation as to what has come to be understood RE: how the background image floats around in size/dimension.

While I understand the "why" behind this happening, i must admit it is a bit surprising to find it to be the case.

Hey man... It was your brain fart that started this whole mess. Look within yourself for the answer.

EDIT: I'll do some further investigation on this... it's driving me nuts.

It's just code, so it should be consistent.

Sorry about that. We have a tendency of getting started on ideas right away and sometimes forget to let the person know its a go. I am sure there are more than a few of us already on it.

I was working, with my boss in town to boot.
So i am a late comer to this party. But since i will end up doing something anyway, might as well take advantage of the prompt provided by Rigel. New ideas can be hard to come by sometimes.
