I won't be able to start on something til later today, but I've just upgraded to Gimp 2.8.4, and looking to put it though the paces.

It'll be an animated transparent avatar, that you can pop in and out of the avatar spot.

Me and my girl had a play around to try and do the exact same thing and got absolutely nowhere.
I love it and really appreciate the effort but went with this one as you can still tell its my kitty.
Ive uploaded urs and will use it down the track.

Thing is, I love this Sirius avatar and really don't feel like changing it but I find it could need a little perk...maybe a strand of hair moving or something along those lines...

I couldn't get the strand of hair to look very natural.However, I made a subtle glare that occurs every 5 seconds.



You can slap it right into your avatar space to see what it looks like. It should blend in perfectly with your current background.

First step: select the head, but exclude the ears. Then ust shift the hue to more of a red color, with a deeper saturation

Second step: extract the black marks/horns one at a time, and then place them using the warp feature.

Tinker with them all until it gets to where you want.

Decided to work up a "Worlds Most Interesting Gorilla" type of background, which I am going to use for now

Remember kinglizard's rounded theme?

Make that into Wolf heads, instead of Skeleton heads, and chop it up into three equal parts.

OOOLALA!

Make my three forums embedded into those three parts somehow. Keep that continuous border. Keep the theme as is, a bit dark. Bingo!

The box is made from scratch. There isn't something that works like that in photoshop without having to manipulate squares, do some duplicating/merging, etc. But I like the effect the slightly off kilter lines give.

I believe i have an idea on an avatar.

why do we have blocked edges? I know that it has to center itself, etc....but if your image spans the entire 180 pixels, the entire image doesn't have to be full of something.

I hate getting a brain fart at the beginning of the week. I won't get to do much on it until the weekend. On the upside, i get the joys that can only come from working 80 hours a week!
