The picture looses its bug like quality when its reverse coloured !!!
In fact i wonder if theres anybody whose got a way to do that to ALL of the NASA supplied pics.............
It could be a remarkable tool if they have been using the technique on us!
The "unmistakable" aeroform certainly has a symetry about it that to my eye belies any natural artifact....
Trick of the lense? trick of the light?
I wonder if theres any way we could scale the x37b? space plane into a comparison?
Its gone out there for two hundred plus days before.....is that the time it takes to go there and return? (with time for in atmosphere scouting as well?)
If its a local flight, well thats another matter.....

That could easily be a scratch on the camera lens.

To all the people claiming this is something special ie: a jet..."lol"..... UFO, whatever.....could you please explain why you think it could not be a simple imaging artefact?

Is it one of those diamond shaped specks Nasa puts on film for orientation or whatever they call it like on the Moon photos and smears to the right? The trail doesn't track right, its at an angle.

Well mostly because it LOOKS just like an aircraft.....
it could be anything thats why i called for some help here......
Perhaps explain why it HAS to BE an artifact?
The symetry is far more that coincidental id say.....
The trail doesnt have to follow the exact heading of the craft if its made a slight turn there.....
After all the camera isnt that good to start with.....
Still, looks artificial to me....

This is definitely one of the more interesting pictures I've seen on ATS. I would generally write this off as some sort of image artifact in an instant, because I hate trying to draw conclusions from small smudges which could in reality be almost anything. However, what really catches my eye in this particular image is the trail behind it... I don't believe an image artifact would produce something which just so happens to look like a craft and has some sort of trail behind it. The probability of that is very low. So I'm inclined to believe that the object in the image is really there. As for what it really is, I wont draw any conclusions on that, but it certainly is interesting.

I played around with the image in Photoshop and got some interesting results with a few of the texture filters:

Anybody think maybe NASA has their proposed "Drone" up and running already and didn't bother telling anybody just in case they actually found something interesting with it?

Without a shadow of a doubt, NASA has covert shuttles and/or drones, and they are using them www.abovetopsecret.com...

Very good speculation on some of the space missions in which I'd never heard also, has the HL-20 en.wikipedia.org... already been deployed in space during the STS-48 mission? At the time of this documentary (1998), it hadn't officially been built and as it turns out, was never built... officially. Proto-types of it however have now been developed since 2004.

However, that smudge could be anything, including a scratch or dust on the lens.
