"Also, the original bill suggested that prosecutors should view the sale of water and the presence of glowsticks or massage oil as evidence of drug
use. These ludicrous "findings" were completely removed thanks to activists who sent nearly 30,000 faxes "
Who the heck put that in?
Lol if you own glowsticks you are a criminal!
I signed that letter.

I still can not believe this was actually passed. An officer could simply not like an organization and claim that it is the site for drug use and shut
it down and incriminate the owner, from what I udnerstand, under this act.

Another sinister attempt of the "christian" right to deprive america's youth of their badly needed sex, to turn them sour so that they may
eventually pass laws like "no sex before marriage", "praying is good for you", "no science in school" and nazi things like that.

Let's say I am a rave promoter.
I hold a rave.
For security, I hire actual police officers from the city where the party is.
They work the door.
They patrol the party.
THEY WILL STOP NOTHING. Anybody that wants to do/sell/buy illegal things still will. I have been to parties where uniformed officers were the
security.
Then.... as Rave promoter, I wait to get busted. That is, I wait for someone INSIDE the party to be busted with a huge cache of drugs.
Then... I sue the stupid city and its moronic police force who were supposed to be working the door for me, for letting kids with drugs in.
Either I get compensated BIG TIME by the city/cops or this stupid law gets repealed.
That's just an idea.

yea but the real problem with this lies not within the fact that they can shut down a business that allows drug use, but they can shut down a business
that never has had any instances of drug use and simply claim that they harbored drug use. They can shut down any business that they please under
this. If some man thinks that a business is say, a competitor, he could lie and say that they harbor drug use and the owner can be arrested without
proof.

Whiskery old cut'n'paste drivel: God grief, Bush père passed the section of the act 14 years ago, when the "War" of the day was "against drugs".
The amendment merely seeks to clarify what has become an issue through judicial procedures.
Even then, "blogcritics" (only the best of sources at ATS) points out for those Americans unfamiliar with their government procedures ( 98.7%, and
rising, at last count):"This legislation must be signed by President Bush before becoming law."
Gosh..so that's what presidents do!
