Anyone have a recipe for bacon bread?

I'm in the mood for a BLBTB sandwich with bacon bread...hold the L & T.

I'm due a cholesterol check next week and I want to prove to the Man that he is wrong about bacon.

Edit-when I lived in Japan I ate nothing but pork and pork bellies. Almost all my food was deep fried. I would also consume about 10 eggs a week... My cholesterol was more than perfect...the doc was amazed and congratulated me for eating healthy.

Just googled it... Seems evil and very misleading. Unless the bacon was cooked till crispy before being mixed in, it won't have the same effect IMO. But the 50/50 concept seems very promising.

But did come across this heavenly delight during the Google.

If you leave the PB&J off of it it looks like it would be truly awesome. Maybe just pan toast the bun in butter for some additional flavor. Or you could put it between two slices of bread with a slice of cheese on each side and cook it in a skillet like a grilled cheese sandwich. Of course the burger and bacon would have to be precooked, but using it as a filler between the cheese slices in a grilled cheese sandwich sounds yummy to me. I already do something like it but with just the crisp bacon. Also, that is one of the two or three ways spam actually tastes like real food. You just put a couple of THIN slices of spam along side each other in the middle of the cheese slices and grill it like a normal grilled cheese sandwich.

YIKES, I think I just gained three pounds from thinking about all that meaty and cheesy goodness.

I'm going to give it a try. Just about to make a late night snack of a peanut butter and onion sammich myself. Think a PB&J bacon burger will be cake.

I like your spam idea. Wonder if it'll be too much on the PB&J burger... Looks like a 7 mile jog will be in my future.
