No, I wouldn't agree. If your post was correct, we'd all be dead from Elenin. Perhaps NASA is hiding stuff from us, but they've got a perfect track record when it comes to End of the World predictions. The same can't be said of the doom-porn pushers.

Its ABSOLUTE IDIOCRACY!!! The only reason people think the world is going to end on 2012 is because of a xfiles episode. No evidence for it what so ever, just that a calender cycle ends. Its like looking at our calender and saying the world is going to end on December 31'st.

Anything could happen and I'm very certain one of the possible 14 plans will happen.

these people who have no clue to what they are deciphering will be held accountable when it's their time. there's no way of knowing this language and to tell the world it'll all come to an end on a specific date is and should be a crime because children are taught that science and the "educated guessers" are the last word and anything they say is the truth. everything they've ever said throughout the written history has only been guesses and theories.. nothing has been proven or "factualized" at all, think about it. this is going to be another "war of the worlds" experience. i have no love for a person who takes their own life but in this case these kids are scared to death and probably have no one they feel they can talk to about it and the constant barrage of tv shows about "the end" and less than intelligent mass media, the news, are spreading fear as well. if you know a child, ask them what they're thinking then tell them the truth. science is a joke a corrupted, bad one at that, if you want to do good for the world immerse yourself in mathematics. my heart goes out to these kids.

I remember in like 06-07 nasa said this solar cycle's peak would be more intense then years past and would occur at the end of 2012. Then around 08-09 when the 2012 talk was really heating up, they changed the solar maximums time frame between the middle and end of 2013 and said the intensity would be mild.

If a catastrophe was imminent they wouldnt tell us anyways...

I had a similar experience with my five year old neice. She said "I'm not gonna grow up, we're all gonna die in 2012", said she heard it at school, other kids are saying it.

It's unfair to me that there are parents who discuss this Mayan doomsday with their children and these children repeat it to the children of parents who prefer not to have their child hear this.

Children should not be told this!

OHH my stop making Nasa out to be the bad guys, they are no more evil than the Doom-Sayers who started the 2012 crap to make profits. Same with the Nibiru cult. The fake end of the world profiting doom-sayers spreading pseudo science and outright lies should be the source of your disgust. There is a good chance Nasa wouldn't say something if they knew for sure. But they were truthful about Elenin and now about 2012, give em a break.

I only heard the story going around last year that 2013 would be a close approach by that asteroid, but yes they toned it down on that now. I don't think it was the solar maximum story that got switched

I laugh at all the fear mongers out there spreading words of cataclysm. All fools who will end up realizing the way they acted was very foolhardy indeed. Or they will just brush it off like Y2K and get on with their lives until the next big doomsday fad catches on.

If there is no concern and we are all stupid to worry , why are all these countries going to such effort to build these underground cities. These cities are fact not fiction, the Russians have one the size of Washington DC and the US government says they wonder what it's for, nuclear war or what.

The world is coming to a end how many times has it almost ended in the past, not to long ago there were only 5,000 humans left on earth, this why the gene pool is not as diversified, as much as it should be.

Don't worry the end will come soon enough, time is short on this tiny little planet and as said I will come as a thief in night and you won't know what the hell happened.

The Norway spiral was a missile test mate, the dust cloud 1500 years ago was probably caused by a comet or meteor strike, which is the probable reason for the underground cities you talk of.

Either way, as far as any Mayan prediction goes, I doubt they predicted the meteor/asteroid strike of 536AD or indeed any other potential strike this year.

I absolutely see their point. I've been through the end of the world so many times in the last 40 years it doesn't even phase me anymore. In the 80's it was nuclear war. The Russians were going to destroy us. We were sent home from school with pamphlets on what to do in the case of a nuclear attack. Put mattresses over the doors. Even at 9 I knew that was pointless.

Lately Y2K, that crazy guy in October, ad nauseum. Enough. Why is everyone so worried and to the point of scaring kids? If the world is going to end what's the plan? Nothing. There is no plan so why bother with it? Out of our hands. It's like worrying gravity will fail or we will stop orbiting the sun and float away into space.

We are scientific generations. Thousands of years ago they weren't. We can't interpret their subjective thinking with our objective thinking. They don't fit together. Why do people take these things literally? If the Mayans were all wise where is their society today? Couldn't they predict their own end? If they couldn't then why ours?

Maybe Dec 21/12 will be the day of a new incredible invention or discovery. Why does it always have to be gloom and doom?

Most likely it will pass like every other day and even if there is some shift in something somewhere we will only understand in retrospect like most other things. Fear is a horrible thing to pass on to kids, especially when it is only an imagined potential issue.

2012 isnt about destruction or some doomsday event...this is pure brainwashing and sabotage of whats really going to happen. Why do people think some big force will destroy us? Humans are already killing eachother...so why need some big doom event? That was called ww1 and ww2, and the current wars. These are your doom. And yet people still think some comet or something will destroy the world? NONSENSE.

Its a new age, a new time. END OF TIME.

Whenever i hear about the 21st December, i always have to ask.............. 'which time zone ?'.

What could be a major event in the US on the 21st December, will actually be on the 22nd December in New Zealand and Australia depending on the time of the event.
