I thought that the seismic events were the different levels of the old salt mines collapsing and filling with water . There was some mention of radioactive waste stored within those caverns also .

I'll start off by saying that vice news featured Louisiana sinkholes on part 2 of it's documentary on American water crisis.
www.vice.com...
I don't particularly like the author of the documentary, but I think the issues he raises are valid. Much of the sinkhole problems are contributed to the over-exploitation of the fresh water aquifers in Louisiana. It's easy to blame the corporations for pumping out too much ground water, but it is just to service the residents of Louisiana. Either the consumption of fresh water must go down or other fresh water resources must be made accessible and competitive, or else sink holes will continue to be a problem.

In my opinion, this sinkhole story is the consequence of the lifestyle of the residence, and it will just get worse until they realize the problem and change their behavior. I don't think it is necessarily a natural cycle or a sign of the end of the world, but I think it is another problem caused by human ignorance and selfishness.

Ok, it seems like a lot of people are either just hearing about the sinkhole or have a lot of questions that they want answered. Just thought I'd repost what CajunBoy said on the previous page - lots of folks have been following the sinkhole over at this thread and there are probably a lot of answers in there. This new 'sinkhole burp' is good as its own thread, but CajunBoy (and a lot of others, but mostly him as our local source) put in a lot of effort to give ATS the best damn updates in real time when the MSM was and is no where to be found. Resources like that are what make this website the greatest! ✌ peace!

Fixed Link?

So there are massive sinkholes in Louisiana and Ohio. Also some kind of sinkhole in Pennsylvania. Why is this not on the news again?

When South America has a sinkhole it is all over the news. I'm not getting why this isn't being covered on every channel.

Hadn't heard anything about cancer outbreaks either. Would definitely like to hear more about that.

Isn't Ohio on the New Madrid fault line?

I know sinkholes are quite common in Lousiana, but I do not believe them to be common in Ohio, and this also reminds me of the land splitting in Michigan. Earth changes are normal but it seems there is an increase in these events in which I used to never hear about until recently. Perhaps the internet is part of the reason why we hear about them more often but I am going to keep an eye on the developments nonetheless.

Thanks for sharing the pic

I for one hope that Cacye's prophecies are incorrect because I live on the great lakes

And I hate cold swimming in cold water.

I have heard of the Lousiana and Ohio sinknoles but have not heard bout the one in PA. Thank you for notifying me and I will look into it shortly. If you have a link it would be awesome if you can share it, but I'm pretty sure the Google search I am about to perform should bring something up.

Cheers.

Here is a little website that is pretty interesting about the New Madrid. It talks about the possibility that the Gulf of Mexico can cause the New Madrid to go off. There is some talk about the BP spill. Doesn't seem too far off that an explosion in Louisiana can cause the New Madrid to shift.

By the way you make a good point about the mainstream media not giving these events the attention they deserve, sure they might briefly mention them, but they then move on to something else and act like it's all over with. I personally believe these events to be worthy stories to report.

The conspiracy lover in me wants to believe that there may be a deliberate black out on these events, for what reason I can only speculate.

Looking at that Ohio sinkhole and it reminds me of that movie 2012 where the planet starts caving in but please be aware that I am not sold on the 2012 hype but it does not mean that I will not keep an open mind on the subject.

I would love to know where you live that the local news outlets did not mention this once to y'all. I have a news article from at least 1 news source in each parish in Southeast Louisiana about this hole.
