No sure thing, and I don't really buy it..
China would be better served by staying the course, and continue to gain in power relative to the West. They have the means to increase their
influence in the region and worldwide through economic partnership, and wouldn't risk losing a lot if they end up in a major face off.
As it stands, Chinese culture will likely spread without any military action. They are nationalistic, and a big part of that is the belief that they
have a superior model of government. With Western economies constantly on the brink recently, they'll more probably allow the West to go through
cycles of boom and bust while they remain steady.
I mean, yeah, their economy is slowing...but they'll grow at least 5% a year no problem. And they will slowly address human rights issues.
There is just no reason for them to take bold military action. They are on pace to be the worlds most influential and powerful nation by the midpoint
of the century, no need to mess with that.
