Well said and understandable. Pretty much the best reply I've read. Thanks
I totally get that, the world is messed up and there are bigger things to worry about for your kids. There is no such thing as a perfect parent, I get that too. Its that reason, that until the world becomes a better place I have no plans to reproduce.

Never mind the endlesswars, poisons, toxic waste polluting the planet your more worried about your children being exposed to the evil that is Santa Claus. You're clown shoes.edit on 27-11-2012 by zonetripper2065 because: (no reason given)

I enjoyed the Santa thing as a kid too, leaving that guy cookies and milk.
Finding out the "truth" about him is a rite of passage, in my opinion.
The tooth fairy bothered me a little, I think she was a tightwad.edit on 26-11-2012 by spacedoubt because: (no reason given)

Especially since it takes a Fat man in a red suit to do it.

Oh my, Santa is real ! Well he lives nearby and works at the earmountain ( so he can hear everything) He rides with his reindeers and guess what
In here he gives gifts in person rather than use chimney to that. I have seeen Santa every year since i was born. Every Year he have given me Christmas gifts and he even stays a little and sings with us. After spending time with us about 30 minutes he takes off with his lovely deers Many celebrites from abroad want to have magical christmas time in Santa´s village. It might be dark here because of polar night but then its even more magical
I love Christmas, there is something about Christmas traditions which brings love and magical moments in the family. Gifts are just small part of it.

So my point is that by telling your kids these myths not only are you losing they're trust but your teaching them that its alright to be dishonest sometimes.

Thank you for your post and for sharing the vid
I have visited Rovaniemi myself and seen Santa in the place in the vid....I have to say it was one of the best experiences of mine and my daughters life. It's a beautiful place.... i only remember there being a handful of daylight hours before it went dark ...but as you say that just made it all the more special seeing Santa's village all lit up.We even got to drive snowmobiles and have reindeer sleigh rides and husky dog sled rides.Forget Disneyland and the likes.....Rovaniemi must be the most magical place on the planet!
Right okay....i shall try and reign in my enthusiasm and excitement! lol

Your theory is completely unsubstantiated.

Cmon, thats just creepy. Talk about going overboard with it.. "Many celebrites from abroad want to have magical christmas time in Santa´s village." I bet.. Thanks for bringing that to my attention, rich people ACTUALLY CAN go visit Santa at (not) the North Pole. I'll say this much for it, at least its obviously fake. You take a kid there who is already questioning the idea and I'm sure they would leave knowing it was bs all along. Why not just take them to Disney Land or idk... camping!? I can imagine the car ride there, "OK kids, now as you know were going to visit a place called Rovaniemi. Before we arrive though I have abit of a spoiler alert.."
