What about a pointed stick?

Now a rifle with a scope, that is an offensive weapon.

Knowing our laws, even if you didn;t shoot anyone, you'd probably get done for being a peeping tom for using the scope.

Applying for a shotgun licence is no more difficult than applying for a passport. The main exception being, that if it's a 'first time' application, a Police representative will visit you to check out your storage facilities (gun cabinet etc.) As for needing a reason for possessing a shotgun, It's usually sufficient to state that you wish to take part in shooting sports. I get to have one as I'm a landowner, (for use against vermin etc. Oh - and Ramblers who leave gates open!).

Once you've been cleared by the authorities and paid your £50, you can own as many guns as you need, (although I suspect if you amass too many, they may take a dim view of it!)

you can keep a katana sword in a case under lock and key for tshtf days
and a diablo catapult is as good as a gun in the right hands
with little ball bearings as you projectile
an axe for chopping wood very sharp
my list goes on and on for ligit things you can have
without the cops taking them off you
another is a gas powered air rifle
