High end Brooks Brothers stuff is still made in either the US or Europe and that's where the quality matters.

I know, but even the modern US made ones do not compare to vintage.

I've never been a fan of Ben Sherman at all though, no matter where there stuff is made

Ben Shermans were originally a copy of Brooks Brothers button down shirts, when Mod was the rage and they wanted top quality button down shirts. They looked like BB and were cheaper, but were still far better quality than what else was available at the time.

But that is not the point. The point is companies often start out making quality products, and once that product becomes popular, and people recognize the name, they often then shift to outsourcing. People buy the now lesser quality product simply on it's name, for the same price. Most people do not know what quality is, especially when it comes to clothes.
Just like any other product they don't want it to last too long. They simply want you to buy shirts more often.

OK, I see your point. Yet, "Americans" is a generality without some modifier in front of it.

The thread is an insult to thinking people. It's one of America's greatest freedoms....the freedom to be a moron. A right that's been fully exercised by many.......

No, the modifier is actually the rest of the sentence containing the word 'Americans': ie "Americans who are vocal enough and opinionated enough to want to talk politics on the internet that they just don't have a clue about the very thing that is motivating them enough to start bawling on the internet?" From the word "who" onwards is the 'modifier' as it's referring to a specific set of Americans.

I'm really not sure why you're trying to pick at this particular bone, to be honest. There's no generalisation as, patently, not all Americans are like this.

If I'd have said: "what is it with Americans who shop at WalMart with their arses hanging out of their jeans?", would that be querying all Americans, or just Americans who shop at WalMart with their arses hanging out of their jeans?
