No, you are wrong on many levels. It is NOT my responsibility to care for you regardless of what you have done. It is your families responsibility. You know, the people who actually care about you.

I don't need the government to take care of me, or anyone for that matter. I don't expect you to. I do expect my family too because i would be doing the same for them.

Learn some independence. I don't owe you anything other than what i want to owe you.

Okay then, when the poor and pathetic leeches come for you and your family, then don't crybaby to the government to save you. Fight them off yourself, and God help you if you run out of ammo.

Seriously, you have no idea how much trouble you'd be in right now if the government didn't make you pay in to keep the losers fed, clothed and sheltered. There's no way in hell that you'd be bad ass enough to survive a week of them if they decided they'd had enough of your "independence". You pay protection money to the government and they pay it to the losers who could easily bring this whole thing to its knees if they decided to. If you don't know that much about the social contract, then you'll never figure out why anything at all related to civilization survives more than a weekend.

I have not looked. Not that it would be so widespread as to account for all guns but I would imagine a lot of starving people would trade in their guns, especially if ammo and such are unaffordable or unavailable in some type of SHTF scenario. Something to consider.

If I had a gun and was starving, the last thing I'd do with it is trade it for food. One gun equals all the food you can eat and for a long time. Just point the damn thing.

This sorry excuse for a human being represents what leads our nation right now. This is what has created Food Stamps and Unemployment as a near force unto itself around us. When the leadership itself is actually explaining how Unemployment checks, Food Stamps and Obamacare are POSITIVE things that will alternately create 600,000 jobs and then 4 million to listen to her, how can individual people be 100% to blame for literally following the idiocy of elected leadership??

I wish I could say any of this was doctored or edited...but our Former Speaker of the House and current Minority leader in the House actually said this and actually DOES think at this level, apparently. I KNOW we have lawyers a plenty in that building around her. Hundreds of them. It's all we seem to be capable of electing and we GET the disaster we deserve for it. However, I gotta ask..is there ONE PERSON anywhere in United States elected office today WHO KNOWS ANYTHING ABOUT ECONOMICS?!

It would seem that quoting OTHERS who supposedly know something is about the best they can manage....and we're doomed because of it. MAYBE...in 2016...we can elect people who can at least explain basic economic principles to a High School level of comprehension. She can't even get the sentences out intact. That woman scares me by the fact she's been re-elected every 2 years for SOOOOOOOOO long.

(We see this and even wonder why we're collapsing? For shame on us all. The reasons are right in front of us...yet still we wonder. For shame.

You miss my point as well. If I invested money with a contract that states I can only collect when at a certain age or under certain conditions and then when that time occurs the shareholders say no, we got where we are off your money but we don't want to pay you so tough I could go to court. The citizenry of this country are the shareholders. Social Security and Medicare are the contracts that money has been taken from us for. Give us back our money and we will leave you alone. We just want what we PAYED for. In case you have not noticed Social Security and Medicare are seperate taxes.

Ummmm.... Dude. I was replying to Milkyway12 who was replying to you.
I understand how that mistake can happen because I have done it before as well.

Good thing about Civil Wars. I personally wouldn't mind one, let guns decide who is right.

I didn't choose to live anywhere. I was born into this country. You know .. EARTH. Ill defend this country and the people with my life, unless my freedoms begin to vanish to the point i can no longer bear it.

However, i did not choose to live in this country. I appeared here, out of a woman. I OWN the land in which i pay for and its property. Telling me to get out? Yeah, try it, you'll be looking at the end of a barrel. Smile, and wait for flash.

You are not entitled to a single penny of my money that i have earned. What so ever. Go get a job, can't get a job? Good thing about family. Dont have a family? You live and you die ... it just seems this is the way your going to go, unless of course, your neighbors help.

Take a look at the Constitution. Wait, let's get around the constitution, and name socialism a tax.

Of course you didn't choose to be born here, but hey guess what? No one is FORCING you to stay here either! You are free to leave this country any time you like!

Don't want to be a moocher? Then don't use any public roads, public hospitals or any fire or police services because me and the rest of the people in this country who actually want a civilized society are paying for all those things!

Yeah, you aren't forcing me to stay here. I own the land. It's mine.

I obey the laws, the problem is. People are getting around the Constitution by naming everything a " tax ".

Go to Europe, i hear they will pay for you to exist.

reply to post by muse7

Then that means i own more of the roads then you most likely based upon that standard. Why? Because we pay several hundreds of thousands of dollars in taxes each year.

A civilized society? You can have one. By working. Dont want to work? Then you dont eat. Disabled? You have a family. Dont have a family? Ask a neighbor, ask the church. They wont help you? Damn ... that is to bad.

I promise you, if a neighbor asks me for help because he couldnt feed his family .. by God id be helping him plant a garden or buying him groceries. If not both. I do not need the government to tell me to help my neighbors.

It IS NOT the governments PLACE.

The issue here is not whether you are obeying the laws, seems like you are just grumbling over your hatred of having to pay taxes.

You must be eager for all of the social safety nets to be cut, and for this country to deteriorate into truly 3rd world status.

Bolstering the social safety nets and implementing workplace regulations are the reasons behind the creation of the largest middle class in the world.

I don't want to move to Europe, that's why I pay taxes because I use public roads, public hospitals and you never know when you'll need the fire department of EMT's.

Yeah, the Constitution is a 3rd world representative. Gah, i really love the modern American's thought process.

By the way. I dont mind paying taxes. It is a necessary thing. However, paying for a Woman's contraceptive is not. Paying for her abortion is not. Paying for a person who is too lazy to work is not. Paying for a person to EXIST is not necessary.

Again, you are missing the point. Ill help my neighbors myself, and whom i choose. The government is reckless and wasteful when it comes to money or did you miss that memo?

wow those numbers are staggering, this is absolute proof that the "job creators" have failed, it`s time to take away their tax loopholes and government welfare, and other perks.
It`s time for a massive tax increase on the "job creators" and use those new taxes to help the unemployed and start cleaning up this mess that the "job creators" created by failing to create jobs while making record profits for themselves.

I could see a change this year from last. It seems to have taken longer for things to start hitting the central states or at least this area.

Last year the day after Black Friday you could not go to any store without fighting a crowd, this year the store was not that bad today. It was actually better today than normal Saturdays. I am not sure if everyone got everything they needed yesterday (I did not get out in the mess) or if things have just gotten that bad.

Here is what I do know though. There are Wal-Mart workers protesting about wanting higher wages while making $11 an hour (I am not attacking them just hear me out). I make slightly more than that and will not do anything to harm having a job that pays, at least not in this economy. They might lose their jobs and be replaced. As is I had to get compliant with my work insurance or pay an extra $900 this next year for insurance. It seems to be a new thing with a lot of places around here now.

The last two out of three years we have been on wage freeze yet our insurance costs continue to rise. I honestly think that now after being with the company as long as I have I am making less if not the same as I started with due to insurance costs being equal to or more than my raises. I score above average on my yearly reviews so it is not that I am lazy the raises just are never high for anyone.

It is crazy something is not being done to fix the economy and bring back jobs. Our government has failed the citizens; they no longer represent us but their own corporate interests. DC is filled with thieves, liars, and traitors.

we should all quit working - this would stop the monster in the east.

but you have no problem with the industrial military complex, senators, oil companies, haliburton, the federal reserve, banks, goldman sachs and the rest of the corporate freeloaders with their hands in the taxpayer cookie jar stealing from you.

not to mention the $700 billion bailout that went to hundreds of golden parachutes and bonuses.

yet you have a problem with your neighbour buying milk and eggs, because they'd starve without it.

i bet you couldn't even look a senator in the eye, unless it's to agree with everything he said.

when the money your earned thru hard work is mandatorily taken from you without your consent with the threat of prison, its not your money.

End food stamps, welfare,

Right - we should just round them up into concentration camps and let them starve to death. Better yet, let's gas them, it will be quicker - but it will cost some money. [/sarcasm]

8 billion people and counting...and the most growth is in the welfare population.

I often wonder why people that cannot afford to feed themselves continue to reproduce to children that they cannot feed.

Its insane.

Yep, sounds totally justified. Here's an idea: move to another country. If you don't like it here, leave.

I'm sorry, AfterInfinity, but with that attitude the whole world would be worse than you could imagine. People caring enough to speak out, to make a stand and fight is why we all have the rights and freedoms you're talking about here.

Well with 37,253,956 In California alone your number doesn't seem very high. Listing out all of those states really pollutes the perception of the number.

In USA we have a population of 314,814,000, so your number is around 15% of the population is on food stamps. We are currently in a depression and a really bad economy.

Clearly since Obama won Breitbart.com doesn't have anything better to do.....

As a born in this nation United States Citizen and being Disabled since birth I think people need to learn how to separate those who are abusing the system from those who truly need the system and why it was put into place.Yes our government is corrupt from with in but who voted these thieves into office to begin with. That is right go look in the mirror and the pictures of your forefathers upon the walls of your own homes.

Did I choose to be born Disabled? Nope you should try living in my head and my shoes daily, It sucks living in my head, it really does..

Do I like being Disabled? Not really but WTH is normal anymore anyway?.

Will anybody hire me? Nope because employers these days only want the "Choice Humans" for their working stock of cattle fodder.

I do not feel Entitled to anything but I sure do feel blessed for the tiny little check I get each month and the even more miniscule amount of Food Stamps I get each month as well. That is right I feel blessed. I am entitled to nothing. None of us are.

Please do not go lumping everybody on any kind of assistance together. It just shows your ignorance, your pettiness and your serious lack of any kind of a sociological education.

nuff said.
