Yes seriously.. very much serious.. the move they made is a move of greed.. cutting their employers hours ( and thus their pay ) to avoid paying for healthcare? ... they could have cut them by a single hour but they instead cut them by 5.. kind of a jerk move if you ask me.

But nevertheless... I think healthcare should be something we all have, whether or not we have a job.. it should paid be paid for taxes the same way that public parks, roads and transit systems, education and other things are paid for.. it would also force the medical industry to correct it's insanely high fees for many of those procedures.

I do find it ironic that many of the people whining about socialized medical are perfectly fine with all of the other social programs they take use of .. those parks, those roads, those public schools..that's ok but caring for your fellow citizen's health isn't? we don't mind government subsidies for fuel to keep our SUV's pump price down but we get mad when we're paying for someone elses life saving procedure...?

Obama knew when he made this a mandatory purchase of a private corporate product that it was not going to fix anything. I think he was more interested in being recorded in the history books as having reformed healthcare...even though it essentially accomplishes nothing...sure, you now have coverage...a physician has to see you...but that doesn't mean you are going to get "the top shelf" of service.....

The only way to assure healthcare to everyone is a Gov single payer system and that will only happen when everything falls apart because of Obamacare as it is right now.


inb4 "what makes someone think they are entitled to healthcare?"...because we are human beings...not freaking animals...we don't eat our young...yet...

It was important to open the door to healthcare, future generations can fix the shortfalls. Healthcare is the best thing that has ever happened to the U.S. and future generations will determine it's destiny, so I anticipate it will do well and flourish!

How will future generations determine its destiny? We had no say in how it was made and how its being formed. Why do you think we will in the future? And Why is it the best thing to happen to America when we havent even tested it yet and it ends up being horrible in other parts of the world?

Also way too many of the posts in here are over concerned about the teachers, who make a good living, taking a cut while theres so many others out there who have no job or work minimum wage and cant get anywhere no matter how hard they try. The sentiment of "Oh you just gotta work real hard and you'll get the American Dream" is nonsense, its all a game of luck. Having trouble finding a second job in this economy? Phh, alot of people cant even find one #ty job :|

Yes it is great that we have so many on Medicare/Medicaid now. Maybe if we can find some Dr. who will accept them as patients now ....

Obama is your elected official and you had an elected congressman .....that means you had a say. If you vote you will have a say in the future.
Its the best thing to happen because as I stated in an earlier post you guys are dropping like flies, the cost spent per person is the highest in the world and your longevity is the shortest. Anything is an improvement so don't worry, you already had the worst medicare in the world. It's about time the USA joined the industrialzed world and made affordable healthcare for everyone! Why do you think it was such a priority throughout the years for both parties (D@R) to get some form of universal healthcare. The stars just happened to align for the Democrats to get it done, and it could have just as easy been a Republican.....remember R. Regan tried!

What exactly was done to reduce medical costs with Obamacare??

Answer: Absolutely nothing, the government itself admits costs will not come down, and a simple quote for insurance tells you Rates are going up not down. There are far to many people that somehow think Obamacare will give the US the same kind of socialized system as most developed nations have. It does absolutely nothing of the kind and to think so shows true ignorance.

Reducing costs should have been the goal of any kind of medical reform because you are right our system sucks. Obamacare will not bring down costs, and it will not ultimately force more people to pay for their own healthcare. The reason is simple you can not get blood out of a turnip.

People want healthcare, the reason not everyone is covered is because they or their employers can't afford it, mandating it will not change anything other than for the law to be disobeyed or cause loopholes to be used.

It is just like any other tax, you can raise rates, but there is a limit to what you will collect no matter how high the rate goes up. Government can't afford it either as it's already very broke, and it certainly cannot continue to afford the costs doubling every seven years as they have been while the population ages.

There will be major reform within the next decade, but it won't come from the government, it will only happen after the whole system collapses.

As I stated in previous post it opened the door for a universal health system, its up to you to improve upon what's there. Good luck, don't let it get watered down and get rid of the health insurance crooks it will be better for Dr.'s and patients.

Before this happened companies were already tightening their belts..I used to work for a company that unless you were management or a supervisor, they made sure you did not get full time hours to avoid giving health benefits...now they are going to cut those management positions and make people work more hours to compensate for those that they cut hours from...supervisors will became part-time, they will hire more people but none will get full time benefits. It is a vicious cycle that is going to end very badly...that is why they need coffins and bullets...soon this # is going to hit the fan and people are going to have enough.
