Ok I've lived in Texas my entire life. I respect you views.
I love Texas. But seceding just makes us look backwards.
So petitioners are up to 116,900 people, or about the pop of Waco.
The 22nd most populated city in Texas.
There are still 30,000,000 others mostly in met. cities.

Also Texas doesn't own all of it's Power or Ports, just like any other state.
NYC's Goldman Sachs owns many Texas Nuclear power plants.
Shoot, Oklahoma owns a chunk of our energy.
The infrastructure is owned by many
non Texan and non US companies.

How are 116,000 people going to run Power, Farm, and Port infrastructure
and still defend Texas?

You know what. Obama was democratically elected by the entire country.
Romney conceded defeat.
But because your boy lost your gonna throw a hissy fit and talk about leaving the party?
Come on Texas grow up.

Now if you have some proof that fraud was committed during the elections and Obama was elected illegally then maybe you'd have a leg to stand on.

Just let it go.

I don't think this is all about Obama per se.
It's more about the last 11 years and the complete erosion of our Constitution and Rights.
It's just reached a boiling point and I think, since the defeat of Ron Paul, it doesn't matter who won, we blew our last chance.

When Texas prints it's own money with something tangible backing it up....

Then I might take seriously this secession BS.

To secede but still use federal currency and the US banking system would look silly.

I wish people would quit talking about this secession crap. That's all it is, just crap. It's illegal to secede, they have federal laws against it and evne if people in their respective states wanted to secede it would have to be voted on via state legislature and since states no longer have their own forms of currency or independant economies, we're stuck suckling from the teet of a domineering big government we can't afford and that wants to push us into socialism.

There are 15 U.S. military bases in Texas that presumably would all be shut down. The economic hit from that alone would have Texans whining worse than they are now.

We have bases in pretty much every country....those bases would stay put.

texas is oil and energy rich in it's international holdings and local oil fields.

shell, conoco phillips and exxon are texas based. they only ones who would likely complain would be halliburton, they might lose their ability to embezzle federal funds from the rest of the american taxpayers.

if they secede they might very will become the dubai of n. america.

but that all depends. are all those billionaires and corporations going to put their money back in texas and pay fair taxes or will they corrupt the government and leave it in their bank accounts while the infrastructure crumbles and poverty rises.

Right. Instead of asking for funds to declare the effected counties as disaster areas, ol Perry wanted to declare the entire state a disaster area. I live in Texas and the entire state was not a disaster area.

The "entire state" or a large portion of it was vulnerable to fire.

aside from the obvious (needing a passport to visit family) ... TX secession has my full support.
and any other state willing to exercise their natural right to self-determination.

not only is it an act which is Constitutionally protected, it is spoken of as a "duty" of the citizens, not just an option.

You have no idea how many people in the US would want to move to Texas, with their money and their talents, to live.

Soooo many people are soooo tired of the FSA that's come to own the vote. We want to live free and prosper - you cannot do that in the US anymore.

Texas would be a very rich nation, and do well.

Rick Perry was laughing it off and it is fairly impossible without the agreement of all 50 states, a waiting period and a bunch of other insurmountable issues so no. Nothing BUT Republican rhetoric just trying to APPEASE the wacko tea party right because it is ALL THEY CAN DO do to soothe the crying babies.

It is fairly impossible. Simply posturing and a complete waste of time discussing it.

Four more years a Republican President and they will want to come back.
This aint MACYS. There is no revolving door.

In fact most of our Presidents come from TEXAS and if they secede there goes George P. Bushs chances for the Presidency...of course he could move. LOL Now you have me entertaining the idea of secession when I know it is impossible. Never gonna happen.

Good post!

I wonder if there is anything Goldman Sachs doesn't own a little piece of?

I thought it astounding to learn
Goldman Sach's made last year alone...
almost many dollars as the earth is old.

4.5 BILLION

So you're saying that Texas will be reduced to 116,000 people, everybody else will move out and take everything they own with them? lol, If that happens we're screwed.

I also hope that Mexico takes it back by force five minutes after Texas loses the support of the U.S. military.

Brush up on your Spanish!

Why so much hate?

It's doubtful it will ever happen, but you hope it "will" for no other reason than you want the worst for them.

Wouldnt it be better to hope the best for any State no matter what they do or dont do?

Happy Thanksgiving if that is a holiday you choose to celebrate.

Interesting read here.

Texas not Stolen from Mexico, but liberated from Mexico by Mexicans

You will note that this is not the Lone Star flag, but looks an aweful lot like the Mexican flag. There is a simple reason for this. The Texas Revolution was a revolution of Mexican citizens, who revolted against the take over of the Mexican government by a dictator. The reason it has the date 1824, was that this was the date of the Mexican constitution that had been caste aside by Santa Anna.

Does it look like Texas legislature is planning a goodbye party for the feds to anyone else? Just saying… interesting link below.

“Texas prepares to nullify TSA, NDAA in showdown of state liberty versus federal tyranny”

“Lawmakers in Texas are set to respond to a growing wave of discontent with federal authority, as they look set to consider a pair of bills that will set the state on a collision course with Washington.”

The annoying part of this is that during the Bush years these same people were wrapped in the American flag and would be today had Romney won the election.

Nothing significant has really changed with the country. They're just poor losers.

Yea, Texas asked for help because the Feds tie our hands and require our LE to release illegals back to the streets.

And again, Texas was declared a disaster area, our Governor is required to look out for its citizens and ask for federal aid for them.. Again, the "Hope and Change" President Denied it and like I said, we did fine despite not getting the funds.

By Denied it...You mean approved it? and by doing fine without those funds...you mean recieving every request for funds that was asked for as well as the Federal Disaster declaration?

What the hell is in the water down there..BS juice?

Obama signs Texas wildfire disaster declaration
