I did some contract work for a company in Wu Han back earlier this year(I was state side) and I can tell you that they were not afraid to say that
China's economy is not as powerful and mighty as the regime in charge wants the rest of the world to think it is.
Terrible working conditions, even worse wages. Basically slavery. Most factory workers stay on site in dormitories and can only leave for holidays
and rare special occasions.
They make the equivalent of about $3.00 a day. How's that "I phone"
feeling in you hand about now?
Vast areas of China are desert or mountainous and is basically unusable. That's part of the reason they were/are grabbing up land for agriculture
everywhere they can get it.
I doubt they will collapse anytime soon but I think big changes are coming over there and that is just from the few months I worked with
