So there you go folks...Twinkies are here to stay!!

Twinkies may live on after all.

Bankrupt Hostess Brands Inc. and its striking union agreed to enter into mediation to try to resolve their differences, putting the baking company's planned liquidation on hold for now.

At a U.S. Bankruptcy Court hearing Monday in White Plains, N.Y., the 82-year-old company sought permission to start shutting down its business. Instead, Judge Robert Drain urged Hostess and the Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers International Union to consider mediation.

I just heard on the radio news that they decided to settle the dispute..

Hostess is back in business....

I will update as i hear more..

some guy on E-Bay bought a "PACK" of twinkies for 10,000$

I will agree with you on that statement.

Never mind!

It's really not worth a comment.

Oh I read it as 'Hostess, union agree to try meditation to avoid liquidation' and didn't really get it

I have, by the way, never tasted a twinky, but reading about the bankruptcy in my local Danish paper (I kid you not - it was right there side by side with the Gaza attacks) I realized I will have to try one before it is too late.

Question is where to find a twinky in Denmark..

You're not missing much, I tried one once... It was revolting, made me want to puke.
Then again, you're Danish, you might like it.

I don't really expect to like it . It's just one of those things I've heard about most of my life but never tried - I want to know how it tastes out of sheer curiosity. I had the same curiosity about beef jerky once. Ebay solved that for me. At a ridiculous expense that is.

So the bigwigs basically threw a hissy fit to force the union to back down and they did.

I have to admit, I was excited to try a Twinkie. My friend brought me one back from the US. I was disappointed because it was just so sickly. It had something like 100% RDA of sugar in it.

I don't really have a sweet tooth so I didn't enjoy it.

Beef Jerky! I've tried it, they sell it in our supermarkets now. It will probably come to Scandinavia soon.

So the people on eBay that spent a lot of money on some Hostess cakes are going to feel really stupid come next week.

Well you know what they say there is a fool born every minute and fools often part with their money easily.

At the store I work at, all the Hostess cakes are sold out, but darned if we don't have the mother load of Hostess Fruitcake!

I bet no one was bidding those nasty things up on Ebay. They probably last forever too!

Yeah, sorry about that. It's just that I have tried your Danish Pastries and they are sickly sweet too. However, twinkies take the biscuit.
