I am sure one day with biomedical technology having chips in our bodies may be beneficial. I think it should be a personal choice. Just like it is my choice to take a medicine or not. I am not saying you should put chips in your body. I think it should be a personal choice.

I don't even have to snopes it.

If there are 320 million Americans in the US, it would take 10,000 new specialist healthcare workers (remember, we have a Nurse, Phys. Assistant and Doctor shortage in many area, which is reflected in longer lead times to get an appointment already) doing an average of 25 injections (and the required paperwork) daily, for 1280 days.

Making this entire scenario flat-out impossible to accomplish in 1 day, let alone 4 years.

The Healthcare Bill that talks about the chips and tracking is for medically implanted devices such as pins, screws, pace-makers, etc. Those devices are to be inventoried and tracked for recall purposes. It isn't a specific tracking device, and it isn't RFID related. This is just a procedure for tracking things already used in our bodies. There are often recalls and lawsuits regarding implants, so this is actually one of the good parts of the healthcare bill.

I dont doubt that will happen eventually or at least along the lines of. I dont think they could ever do this by March 2013! Martial Law would most likely be in effect in order too carry this out I think.

I went through this same fight about the RFID requirement thing on Facebook over the summer. That was worse than this, because the FB people were a lot nastier without even knowing what they were talking about.

I did my research, and found that all the "debunking" all came back to the same Snopes article mentioned earlier.

In truth, the original language in the bill DID include the idea that all Americans be chipped. However, due to universal outcry, it was removed. What was put in its place was the language regarding implantable Class II medical devices, which includes the RFID chip.

My personal take on it is that the language in the law is vague and does allow for such things, although there is no timeline or actual gameplan for implementation.

The infrastructure is in place for this to occur, but in typical sheep-like fashion, there will be some story which will cause people to want to get it, thinking that it makes them "safer" or less likely to be hassled by the authorities.

this post bears repeating for common sense!

Another place where the hoax is discussed and debunked at length is metabunk - it is quite amazing how many people just do not want to understand what the bill is actually about, and insist on retaining their pre-conceived silliness.

All those who have cell and smart phones are being tracked anyway. Why would THEY pay when you just need to get a new gadget out and those that are worth tracking are giving THEM all THEY need by themselves.

Like others have pointed out

If an article starts out with

"A major news story broke on AOL and countless other mainstream news media outlets"

And then a google search shows nothing on said media outlets, you know the story is bunk.

The topic creator doesn't even bother to do a quick google search before making the topic.

This article is posted in the hoax category. It isn't true. There was language of implantable devices being registered in a national device registry, however, that language was taken out of the bill that became "Obamacare".
