Well, If you want the answer from the Bible I'll tell you.
The Problem started here.
Malachi 4
5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:
6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a
curse.
And here.
Matthew 17
10 And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the scribes that Elias must first come?
11 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things.
12 But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son
of man suffer of them.
13 Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist.
Quite simply the Israelites of the first century AD royally ticked off their God. Because they killed the Elijah the prophet candidate they triggered
the curse.
Now to understand the curse you need to have a working knowledge of the Leviticus 26 covenant. In this covenant the details of blessings and curses
are detailed in Judaism. And if you look at the history of what happened to the Jews for the past 2000 years it's quite obvious what happened, They
triggered a top level curse.
Leviticus 26
27 And if ye will not for all this hearken unto me, but walk contrary unto me;
28 Then I will walk contrary unto you also in fury; and I, even I, will chastise you seven times for your sins.
29 And ye shall eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters shall ye eat.
30 And I will destroy your high places, and cut down your images, and cast your carcases upon the carcases of your idols, and my soul shall abhor
you.
31 And I will make your cities waste, and bring your sanctuaries unto desolation, and I will not smell the savour of your sweet odours.
32 And I will bring the land into desolation: and your enemies which dwell therein shall be astonished at it.
33 And I will scatter you among the heathen, and will draw out a sword after you: and your land shall be desolate, and your cities waste.
34 Then shall the land enjoy her sabbaths, as long as it lieth desolate, and ye be in your enemies' land; even then shall the land rest, and enjoy
her sabbaths.
35 As long as it lieth desolate it shall rest; because it did not rest in your sabbaths, when ye dwelt upon it.
36 And upon them that are left alive of you I will send a faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies; and the sound of a shaken leaf
shall chase them; and they shall flee, as fleeing from a sword; and they shall fall when none pursueth.
37 And they shall fall one upon another, as it were before a sword, when none pursueth: and ye shall have no power to stand before your enemies.
38 And ye shall perish among the heathen, and the land of your enemies shall eat you up.
39 And they that are left of you shall pine away in their iniquity in your enemies' lands; and also in the iniquities of their fathers shall they
pine away with them.
Then the question is "How long is this curse supposed to last?" So doing all the work I figured this out. The book of Hosea is all about this
curse. In this book is the day of Jezreel prophesy. See
Book of Hosea see Chap 1 and 3.
Now this book contains the prediction of the curse and oddly enough this book provides the timeline of the day of Jezreel prophesy. Here's the
verses.
Hosea 6
1 Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.
2 After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.
Now these days won't make any sense until you reference this. 2nd Peter 3-8 which is based on Psalms 90-10.
But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
Those days in Hosea 6 2 are thousand year periods of time. It's a 2000 year curse followed by a thousand year period of living in the presence of
God.
