Right and welfare families here in the US dont live well either. Who ever says that these people want to live like this is just plain ignorant. I've seen the projects, I would never want to live there. Welfare doesnt give these people a whole lot. They live on the fringes of society because they cannot afford any more than that. Yeah we're lining up to get those food stamps and welfare checks because we love living in the bowels of society.

Your main error is thinking that the folks on welfare want to be on welfare. Ask one if they would rather have your job of 105k than 400.00 on an EBT card and a check for 1200 to cover rent and heat and electricity. I bet every one would rather be getting your check than the one they do get. Get real. Maybe there are some idiots who desire this kind of life but most people who are educated want more than what welfare would provide.

He heard it from some republican I am sure. Maybe his bossman is also a racist and says crap like this to spread his hatred for the president.

Not quite, my boss isnt even American, he is a brit, and unfortunately he thinks obummer hung the moon and is the savior to human kind...lol.. . Even so not too bad of a fellow.
Well he sounds like a real gem to me. If he spreads cable like this . If he loves Obama so much why is he saying this? Or he doesnt have any more understanding of the issue than you do. Or you didnt understand. I am not sure where this went down hill but it did.

But its been pointed out to you that the math you present is incorrect.

quite right. There was a little confusion in the meeting earlier, party because we also pay a tax to the host country we are working in, and partly due to being a multinational organization with varying tax rates. Come the corporate meeting in a few weeks we hopefully will find the damage may not be quite as bad as it was initially conveyed to us.

No, probably not, however, the question still remains…Why should I have to give more to support those who CAN work but are unwilling to support themselves? Aside from the portions that are used in the maintenance of the state and federal infrastructure, and the portions that are used for the LIGITIMITLY needy (which I support), Its theft, plain and simple… $1 or $1,000,000. And those that support it are thieves.

Those who can work but refuse to are very few my friend. Most people take pride in what they do and what they can earn and the things they can buy and the places they can go. No one is proudly stating hey I get 1200 a month from the state to pay for rent, electricitry, heat, water and I have to buy my clothing second hand because I cannot afford new clothes. Yeah, hip hip horray for welfare. Its so much fun being dirt poor. We all want to be on welfare.

Dont have to ask them.. I grew up with them. That’s exactly my point!!.. ask one if they want my job.. sure they want it!!… Question is what are they going to do to earn it… it wasn’t given to me… I fought to get where I am from literally nothing and working my rear off.

I grew up poor, but my parents were too proud to accept help from anyone. Always saying “if you cant earn it, you don’t need it”… not the same with most (not all) the kids I grew up with. PERSONALLY hearing their parents telling then because they were a certain color or a certain race that they would never have to work….

Granted I also fully understand not all on welfare recipients fall into this category, but for those that do… well.. read back through the posts. And I most certainly DO NOT buy in to it being a race issue as there are people of every color abusing this system.

*sigh
So much misinfo.

Some key points that people on the republican and con side of things don't seem to understand.
The largest cost in medical expenses is not the able bodied who wont work. Its the aging population. As people age their medical costs go up. Not to mention retiring. So, to put it into perspective. The Baby Boomer generation numbers near 45 million last I saw. They are aged. They also (like most Americans now days) didnt have a 401K because they were counting on Pension plans that got gobbled up to allow this or that CEO to get an extra 0 on a bonus check.

Thats right, the biggest drain in medical costs are conservative old people. The bread and butter of the Republican party. Pragmatically though that is a solution that will fix itself. Unfortunately the numbers retiring yearly or being fired a day before retiring for that matter is not only increasing but also eating into income taxes.

The premise of able bodied parasites on taxes is a myth.

As a final point I invite everyone to read up on two economical concepts: 1: The tragedy of the Commons and 2: Marginal Propensity to Consume

Lastly-I didn't see because most the posts left me cringing-did the OP cite which tax is supposedly being enacted when last I knew: nothing was passed. Or, was this an issue of confusing tax bracket for taxable income?

It doesn't matter who you voted for, it's not their fault.
TPTB just put the right actor on stage to play the part of the Decision Maker.

When we needed a Rock Star to be the face of America in the 90's we got Clinton.

Bush was the face of War and Stupidity

And now Obama will play the part of Socialized Welfare, Depression and then to offer control through Fascism

This could be the last "acting" president before we are no longer the USA but because of massive depression and homelessness we are plunged into a mini dark age were we finally unify into a one world currency with a one world governing group.

The worlds military and police forces will combine into one massive police force.

Then it will be Game Over

Also to add, I didnt put this in the last post but should have.

The elderly also make up the bulk of all wellfare really-from housing assistance to assisted living. Utility and food stamps. The generation really got screwed over and was blindsided when it came time to retire. The rest of use are just cynical on prospects anymore or deluded.

I like the John Steinbeck quote which always springs to mind in these sort of threads:

Socialism never took root in America because the poor see themselves not as an exploited proletariat but as temporarily embarrassed millionaires."

--John Steinbeck

It's like people act in rage over the wealthy being taxed because they think "When I have my billions that means I will get to keep less!!!"..

So you used the tax payer's money to go to school and now you're upset that you have to give back to other people who need it.

Further, I find it disturbing that somebody with such poor math and grammar skills makes over $100K a year. Maybe I should make a thread to bitch and moan about that.

Sorry after reading the OP, as well as the comments, I call BS on the OP. Basically because your math is way off and second because it sounds like you are pulling this story out of thin air just to try to make some kind of point, which is basically, "waaaaaaa, I hate Obama, waaaaaaaaa."

I see that you have undoubtedly taken offense to some of my objections, but unless you are one of the one who can but wont, I don’t see why you would. As I mention multiple times throughout this thread, my issue is not with people who HAVE to resort government assistance, its those that resort to it for a career and are perfectly capable of working. If this doesn’t pertain to your situation then there is no reason to get defensive…

I am truly, truly sorry if times that are tough and you or anyone else who cant find jobs or physically are unable to work. That sucks, I know I have been there.

Maybe you should... and thats not exactly how the GI Bill works.. you have to pay in order to use it. I paid in way more than I used.

my grammar?, lets talk about your ability to understand and absorb what you read... Your reply is so far off base, its like you haven’t read any of the posts at all... probably why you don’t make more that you do...just a guess.

If you choose to opt out of obamacare next year then your taxes will be even more,,I make good money too, Im also thinkin about giving up my job and moving to another country. NOT because of Obama but because Im not working my butt of to pay for things we dont need, like: drones, foreign aid, foreign wars, building foreign gov in other countries, cell phones for idiots, and it would be the same if Romney ever had a chance and won, he is for ALL of those things..except the cell phones

True, I do not care for Obama, but this is the rant section… is it not? I don’t care if you believe me or not, this thread wasn’t started to convince people of anything, gain sympathy or anything like that. It was started with the intentions of blowing off steam and sharing about ACTUAL events and frustrations in my life and find others in dealing with similar issues chime in... If you think its BS.. cool.. keep surfing. Not making you read and post.

Not at all. No hurt feelings here. I just think its funny how people halfheartedly read something, don’t fully understand the material or its intentions and then make off the wall posts.
Quite entertaining.

That was actually hillarious to read. 30-38% increase on your personal taxes? You are hilarious.
